I picked up a cheap wheel last night, Logitech formula force EX (cheers ebay!) I know, I know its not a G25, i'll wait till after christmas when I'm "allowed" to spend money! anyways...

learning to drive is quite difficult, like when I do a quick turn it doesnt seem to do anything, it has to be slight turns, is it something to do with the force feedback??

any help would be greatly appriciated!

if you are turning too quickly in a jolt sorta way 9if thats what your saying) then its probably understeer. Learning to play with a wheel is hard but you will get the hang of it.

"I picked up a cheap wheel last night"

That about solves your problem.

If you are going too fast into corners and jolting the wheel you'll get understeer and spit off the track.

If you are turning the wheel fast and the game is not registering input, the wheel may be worn out and just not up to par any more. I got lucky buying my driving force pro at auction as it still works well, the price of the g25/7 wheels is a bit steep for me as yet.

It sounds like you're experiencing severe understeer from too much wheel input.

Since your wheel is more or less like GT3's GT Force with its limited rotation (180 ~200° total?), your movements will have to be even more subtle than someone with a 900° DFGT.

Turning your FF EX 90 ~ 100° to the right will be like cranking a DFGT or comparable wheel 450° to the right. Try to use smaller movements.

You need to be very smooth in everything with the wheel and pedals. You need to slowly and smoothly turn into the corner, if you are doing the right speed for the corner then you will have time to be smooth, just be gentle with a gentle grip on the wheel, just like how you would drive in real life.

The same goes for the brakes and for the accelerator (if you have driver aids on) you need to be smooth with both of them also ... For now maybe drive a bit slower in practice, learn the wheel, and then start to pick up pace until you're back up to speed.

If the wheel is over-sensitive so to speak then you may either need another a wheel or you will need to have a look in the options and see if you can alter some settings.

thank you for all your inputs, i think i'm going into the corner too fast then turning the wheel real fast and it just doesn't work, if its slight movement its ok, it may be the wheels a little old and i'll have to purchase a new one in january. although if it works ok normally it should be ok right? maybe its just me? i can control my 106 rallye really well but my italia 458 seems to struggle around corners..

Best tip i can give you is this: would you run a real car in real life through a corner like you described the way you did it in game with the wheel?
No, so try replicate real life behaviour with a wheel and smoothen it all out, like the rest stated above me. 👍

would you not? :sly: yeah I think its me, i'm gonna practice more tonight, its real easy with a controller, tapping the acc and brake and taking off gas when coming up to a corner, but transfering this to the wheel is real hard

True, i hope for you that there is some Force Feedback in the wheel, at least that should help a bit.
