Am I missing something or..

..is the AMD Radeon HD 7640g actually better than a Radeon HD 7450?

I was curious and wanted to see the scores for my laptop GPU (7640g) and my dad's desktop GPU. (7450)

Now, am I missing something? Are desktop GPUs scored differently? Or is my laptop's integrated GPU better than my dad's discrete GPU?

If it's the latter, I think that's pretty amazing.

Yes, your GPU is more powerful and thus performs better in gaming. Here are specs for your and your dad's GPU for comparison. You can see why it scores almost twice the points.

Wow. Never thought I'd see integrated GPUs stronger than discrete GPUs, let alone getting twice the score as one! Not to mention this laptop was $200 cheaper than his desktop.

Not much difference between a PCIe card and the chip in the CPU.
Similar die so you get similar performance
