Im sure something came up about part of this but didnt take notice of it at the time and ive searched the forums and it comes up with thrustmasters and logitech

Due to my lack of funds and increase in interest of people using the wheel in GT5 i went out and bought a £30 small one with Acc/Brake pedals and to show how cool it is its PS1/PS2/PS3 compatible :sly: but its not as good as the good ones obviously ... 7 inch wheel radius :indiff:

Thing is im sooooo used to the DS3 that this is all new to me and im probably taking on too much in one go.
- Ive heard the wheel is better than controller and increases lap times etc
- Manual transmission is fast than automatic

So ive bought the wheel and changed to manual transmission, went round norschliefe with the RM cappuccino to get the hang but is struggly ... should i stick to automatic until i get used to the wheel or will that become too much of a habit and another quick question my brake pedal foot aches after a while :( any methods to prevent this aching coming to me 5 mins after starting?

Thanks in advance
Sorry if this has been brought up and ive missed it somewhere 💡

As far as I remember, it took me about a week or so, before I could beat my controller lap times. If I were starting over, I would use auto shift for at least a couple of days, and an easier/shorter track.

Set a reasonably good lap time with your controller, and save the ghost. Then change to the wheel, and try to beat the ghost.

Exactly....

Thanks is it better to use slower cars first or certain drivetrains?

and my sore foot? any cure for that :)

IIRC (got my wheel for GT5P) I went back to the beginners section and worked my way forward randomly choosing the cars/tracks allowed...took about 3-4 days till I started feeling really comfortable...

well ive bought Gran Turismo 3 and 4 again so might work through them since my wheel is PS2 compatible ... dont really want to be doing what ive already done :)

Stick with manual and the wheel at same time. Learn it all at once and you will be better off. I had my wheel for a year and a half before starting to race manual and I struggle at times.
