With the gamepad, no assists needed, ABS at 1, I can "drive" any car to the max, I even mastered the E-brake to take any corners without ever crashing, but with a wheel (G27), with no assists, cars go out of control WAY too easily, to the point where I think it's stupid and unrealistic.
Yes, I don't have that much experience with it (G27), but spinning out of control at 130 km/h on a race track... come on. I use stock versions with the default tires they come with. Right now, I'm driving an S2000 with no assists and it's like running on ice with running shoes. With assists on, wow, I can actually enjoy the game almost as if it was "real".
Yes, I do drive in real life and going 120km/h on the highway never sent me into the guard rail. Yes, cars do have assists, and the steering wheel doesn't feel like it's possesed by an evil spirit.
I love cars in GT5 that have less than 400 hp, I take them on the track and cruise as if it was a sunday's drive.
