Am I the only one who's NOT a fan of the F1 Championship?

I usually enjoy races on GT5, be it on-line races or off-line races. but the F1 championship is the exception. For me, this poor-mans endurance event is just the least enjoyable out-there. I find the F1 very hard to controll and it's so hard to sustain a consistent speed and lap-times espiecally for 20 laps. One slip-up and you find yourself in last, yet of course the computer races perfectly. I always thought F1 cars were supposed to be EASY to control.

I'm sorry, but I'm not a fan of this event. The car may be fast but it is just far to hard to control. How can I enjoy the car when if I push it to the edge it goess all over the place. And if I can't enjoy the car how can I enjoy an already not very good event?

Despite being A-spec level 35 and waiting for the holidays to start the LeMans Championship, the F1 Championship trophy box remains grey, gathering dust. Not my cup of tea at all.

Thoughts? Do you guys ilke it or not?

Where exactly did you hear that Formula Cars are easy to handle. It's not the most expensive and glamorous sport for nothing you know.
900 rampaging stallions caged in a housing weighing half a tonne isn't very easy!
:nervous:

That will help you out a lot. Do a search and guaranteed you will find something that works. Otherwise turn on SRF and TCS if your really stuck. 💡

It is really. They just don't have licenses and are based off old gen Formula 1 cars.

It suppose to be they aren't one.
890bhp+? That insane. On a modern F1-like car...at least.

If you're referring to FGT Champ.
I'm not a fan nor a hater.
The car is actually pretty easy and challenging to drive. If you keep spinning when you turn on brake.
Better brake before you turn into a corner. At least that was my experience on winning those championship. On DS3...that is.

The same goes to the Ferrari F1 event...but that i say, is a bored one. All i saw was red. :boggled:
I don't hate the cars but i hate the event.

I'd say they give them so much BHP because they could, think of them like extreme F1 cars. In my opinion at least.

Yes. Extreme F1 car is acceptable. 👍
But still ain't one. They don't have much downforce. It's just a bit like combining Indy cars with Formula Nippon. Hence the FGT...or so i think. :p

I am not either. Besides the 24 endurance races in A-spec, I haven't touched the F1 races in A-spec nor the Ferrari F1 seasonal events. I have golded ever single online seasonal event, every other A-spec and B-spec event and half of the special events (rest are silver). But anything that involves the F1 cars and that x1, I stay away from. It just isn't exciting to me at all.

:scared: Man, Imagine taking one of these for a spin in real life!

I had to use assisits for this one, even with dfgt. oh and I remember the arm and shoulder aches on cote de azur lol.

The AI at the last chicane on the nurburgring, never fails to disapoint.

The cars in general are quite skittish, smooth and steady is the key.

i did the suzuka F1 f2010 race with a ds3.
I went off track a couple of times, but the fun was trying to catch up and set lap times.
There are events that you like or you don't. Just dont make a thread about each one

It's one of the few races that isn't 2 laps long. There is no God car that makes the other opponents traffic since they're all the same.

This is what racing is like. If I played A-Spec, this is what I would want.

The car itself isn't too bad, I managed to beat the AI with the car stock, but setting it up can help. Try something like 60/90 downforce to make it more stable.

The FGT Championship is the last A-Spec I did (not including 24H endurance's which I have not touched) because of that very reason. I did it before you could save between races too, so it was basically sit and suffer for a couple of hours.

While I don't care much for the FGT, the proper F1 cars in the game — the Ferrari F2007 and F10 — are extremely fun to drive. I love doing the F1 seasonal's over and over, but those are only 10 laps each instead of 20. Twenty laps is definitely too many in this game because once you pass the lead car it's not racing anymore, it's just an exercise in setting lap times.

I usually use manual transmission but switched to auto for this event which I then golded.

I found that everything happened too fast for me to accurately shift while also hitting my break and turn in points. By concentrating just on breaking and steering I could produce the lap times I needed. I did the same thing on the Vettel Challenge and the Ferrari F1 Seasonal. Maybe as I get better I will go back and try them in manual.

not exactly, it's true that you have to race VERY careful and avoid crashing as much as possible, although I have crashed a few times in one race and managed to still win. The AI DOES make mistakes, especially on the nurburgring GP. I don't know what it is but for some reason many of the AI drivers tend to crash right before the last corner of the finish line. This race isn't that difficult, you just have to stay focused for 20 laps.

I'm actually not a fan of people calling the Formula Gran Turismo "Formula One" or "F1". Open-wheel cars and even formula cars aren't all F1 cars. For example, Indy is not F1. Danica Patrick, or "DP" as I like to call her, is not an F1 driver.

open-wheel ≠ Formula One

I'm sorry, but that's a pet peeve of mine.

The FGT is a 'Formula' car but not an F1. An Indy Car is a Formula Car as well, but not F1. Basically if it's single seater without covered wheels it's a Formula car, (so the Red Bull X2010 isn't one).
