I recently recieved my DFP Wheel. I know I suck. I was just wondering if my lap times will eventually get better. It seems like I'm banging into every freakin inch of wall there is, like I don't even know how to drive. :banghead: :banghead: Do I need to start a new game and learn all over? One wouldn't think that, but I'm starting to think that it would help. Some of my lap times (with a f094) are 1'04 @ midfield (compared to a '52), 1'06 @ rome (compared to a '58), 1'16 @ apricot hill (compared to a '59), and a 1'24 @ seattle II (compared to a 1'14). I'm using full ff and the 200 mode, with a more than decent setup. Just wondering if anybody else has a story like mine, and has some input.

Also, every few races the wheel sort of "locks up" or changes the center, and it really ****s me up, cause I won't be able to pause and I have to sprint to my ds2 to pause, then reset the wheel, then it is reset to the default config.

You'll get better over time, practice makes NEARER perfect. But I don't know about your wheel problem.

I have that wheel problem with GT3 too.

I've had the wheel for over a month now, and my GT3 times haven't improved at all. They were 20-30 seconds slower than with the DS2 initially, and they still are. I don't really know why...

Could it be that problem wth not using full accelerate and full brake power?

Practice driving with the wheel using slower cars. It worked for me!

When I first got my wheel, I was rubbish, but instead of sticking to F1 powerhouses, I got a standard AE86 Trueno and practiced with this car. After a couple of days of practice using this car, I was much better with the wheel.

Practice using a lower powered car, such as a standard MX-5 or AE86, or anything with no more than, say 150BHP. Move onto quicker cars when you are able to perform decent laps in the slower vehicles.

try it on mini coopers, or the pink vitz works...u gotta get used to it, i dont like wheels that much i own with my controller

@ Eagle:: I did a search, and I couldn't find anything about my specific problem, Just the pedal problem. Then I made the thread. Now I clicked on your link, and it showed the GT3 forum. What are you tryin to say buddy?

I think he's saying search in the GT3 forums for it. I've seen threads in there on wheel problems.

Well, I was inciting two things:

Firstly, problems with the DFP have been discussed before. Whether your exact problem has been raised I honestly don't know, but I do know we already have threads on the topic of the wheel and problems with it, so appending to those threads would have seemed logical to me.

Secondly, you listed some of your times for comparison's sake. I pointed you at the GT3 forum because obviously if you're setting lap times on the courses you specified, you're not playing GT4, or a demo thereof. You could also be playing GTC, I don't actually know what's in that so I'm not sure, but either way it didn't seem like a GT4 related discussion.
