Hey guys,

I've been trying and trying and trying to get the last 2 races (Special Stage 11 and Gran Valley) of that bloody championship (gold), but for some reason, the lead car (Viper GT race) almost laps me all the time.. i don't get it.

All other races from that Series, i get Gold, with a proportional car (i used the Benz Touring car) but those 2 races... although i have almost 5 seconds better laps in Qualifications, the Viper outruns me, and by the 3rd lap, its got over 10 secs on me... Even with Clean races... I really don't know what to do now. Boosting the HP doesn't help, and i do not use Pits (Viper either).

Don't have anymore hair to pull ...

RedOak, It is well documented that the AI cheat in the final races in this series. The Viper gets a huge upgrade in the last race. Beat him with the Mazda 787B if you
have one.

Hey guys,

I mostly use mediums (22 or 27 000$ ones). Else i need to pit to keep up with the Viper.

Well i don't have those big cars yet. I'm just at 40% done in the game.

Although i didn't start the series yet, i'm just doing the 'all gold' in the series, then i'll race the series itself (during weekend most probably). But this is causing me a real headache...

I Really don't have enought money to buy a 'big' car... i guess i'll just let that series on ice and start another one or something.

Red oak,
If you can win the first 8 races give the series a go. You will have enough points for a series win with 8 wins.Save at race 9 and then go for the GT1 road car using save reload trick. This car can beat the Viper at the last race.
Good Luck.

Go back to begginer and do the GT world there until you have enough for an Oreca Viper or another car of that caliber, proporly tuned most of the million dollar race cars can take that thing, but then again I did that series in an F1 so I'm not much help here, you could try the super speedway enduro until you get the F090/s, if that car can't beat a viper on SSR11 somethings really wrong with your driving.

Amen. Don't necessarily need it then from what I hear.

If you can take out the first 8 races, you'll be on 80 compared to a maximum of 48 for your nearest rival. You can wrap up any 10 race championship by the end of round 7 actually. So even if you lose the last two, you'll win, get a decent car then fill in the golds you missed. Your win percentage will be down a fraction but it's a small price to pay.

That is some good advice because you will eventually grow used to the docile handling that the F-1 car puts out.I used the F-1 since I first got it early in the beginner league but I went back and did it all with a normal car(not LM or Race) and the rewards were more rewarding.

I actually went against my advice of not using a F1 car. I entered a OO2 in the Amateur GT world championship to test how the AI go in the last race.
I let the Viper set the pace and stayed close behind him. I pitted at end of lap 3 when the Viper pitted. Came out of pits 18 seconds behind the lead car. I then went for two fast laps and chased down lead car. I gained the lead at start of lap 5. My last lap time was 1:35.xxx. The Viper finished 2nd only 3 seconds behind. 3rd place went to the car that was leading when I pitted only slightly behind the Viper.
How can the Viper run a lap in approx 1:38.xxx when his previous best with me behind him was a 1:54.xxx?
How can I catch a car in 1 lap which had a 18 second lead and then only build a 3 second lead on that same car next lap?
Makes it rather hard to pick a car for this series with the AI getting a huge boost in the last race.

I feel your pain. I just finished this race this afternoon. I entered it with a bone stock Camaro Race Car. That's no oil chnage, no other tires but the T5s. Talk about a challenge! What sucked so bad was the the very last race. The cars get such a big boost in performance, it's not very fair. So, I ended up cheating inorder to finish this race ahead of the Viper. I had to bounce off that one long tunnel wall, instead of slowing down and taking the left turn properly. Hey, the AI cheats, so I cheat.

My lap strategy was very limited. I had to qualify, and had to be in the pole position. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Then, come in lap 1 to change tires. Yep, lap one. Here's why.

You have to change tires. They get bald at the beginning of lap five, and you wont win with an entire lap with bald tires when you're using a stock Camaro race car. You stand the chance of being interfered with by the C5R that comes in on lap 2, so that is out. Lap 3 the Viper pits, so same problem. Plus, you can't catch up to the NSX if you pit on lap 3, which never pits. Lap 4? See lap three info. So, lap one it is.

By the end of lap five, the final lap, your tires are bald, and that god damn Viper comes from out of nowhere and starts to slam into you! Great thing to happen with bald tires, eh? Anyway, blocking the Viper, and coming to the finish line leaves you with a rapid heart rate, and sense of relief you've never had before in your life. :D

A funning thing to do if you try this yourself, watch the replay and choose to watch the Viper instead of your own car. See how fast, and comical, it drives around the corners! Hee-hee! Cheating bastards!

Intresting Pit stop stradegy Solid Lifters.
I am thinking you are doing the A Spec challange over at Racing Line? Good luck if you are.
Is the Viper always in the series? It has always been there when I have raced it. Is there any place at Grand Valley you can push the AI into and get them stuck?

I had no choice, as you've read. Oh well, if it works, it works.

No, never heard of it. I tried to enter several other race events in competition with others, and it never worked out. I tried here, and nobody was interested, so I don't bother anymore. Plus, I was sick of all the whiny babies that just sucked all the fun out of doing it.

Yes, it has always been there as far as I can remember, but when one does the series racing event, all the cars stay the same. There is no change in the line up.

No, I don't bump into the AIs. It slows you down too much, and you wont win the race. You have to carefully pass them, and try to avoid them during the race.

Doesn't seem to stop me winning. :D :D
The AI usually slow down when you get behind. I only drive like this for fun, and when I do I am normally running a faster car anyway. I bump the AI to find places to get them stuck or to try to make the fastest AI car come last. Call me crazy if you wish but I actually find playing bumper cars with the AI quite fun. You can discover interesting things when you crash cars into tyre walls, like the AI breaking out.

I usually find when I run on parity with AI and drive clean that there is not much of a contest.
