Amazon offering release day delivery!

According to an email I got today Amazon (USA) is now offering release day delivery on GT5 CE. The cost, a whopping 99c. If you've already pre-ordered (like I have) you just have go to your order and change shipping method.

Way to go Amazon :-)
 
I was thinking about doing this, but my postman, ups man, fed ex man all come late in the day. I would go mad while waiting. I am hoping for a midnight launch at best buy.
 
It's about dang time! I've thought that for the longest time if they want to be competitve with selling new games, they gotta deliver them the same day they are on the shelves. But....it still means you have to wait until the UPS truck comes (6 or 7pm for me :()Let's hope this continues.

:confused: Guys, this isn't something new. I ordered NFS:Shift about a year ago with release day delivery. (What a waste) :yuck: As far as I know, Amazon has offered this for years; it just depends on your physical location as to whether they're able to offer you this service.

And I've had GT5 on order with release day shipping since I ordered it.
 
i still don't trust the mail tho. with my luck, it would come at 5 in the afternoon or the next day. so i'll just go pick it up at gamestop earlyyyyyy in the morning to gt5 all day long. :D

Guys the AUP is quite clear on the need for good basic grammar when posting and that does include the use of capital letters at the start of sentences, for nouns and single 'I's.

Please take more care in future when posting as repeated issues in this area will lead to action from the staff.

Question....I preorded my CE on gamestop.com...now honestly I've never preordered a game to have it shipped to my house...I've always picked it up in store. According to what I preordered, it said it was not eligible for in-store pick-up...

Having said that...does anyone have experience preordering from Gamestop online, and how long it takes to get to your house on release day? Have you generally gotten the game at your house on the day of release, or did you end up having to wait a few days?
 
This is my first time as well. I picked overnight shipping but I'm still not expecting the game til the 3rd. I depends what type of shipping you picked.
 
I got it from Gamestop, I will give it a week to arrive, lmao. Their are usually quite late, My DFGT took a week also. So about 5 days after the release imma gettin' CE :D

I have GameStop in store pickup. It will be available on Mondays Midnight. So no waiting, no stupid delivery issues, just me and the game from day 1!

Wasn't available for me, not the Collector's Edition. The standard you can in store. GS overnight is more like 3 day service I just remembered.
 
I'll either pick it up after my afternoon class or midnight at Gamestop. No need to worry about the UPS man coming.

Why not just preorder in store and avoid the hassle since you wanted in-store pickup anyway? Then you could probably get it at midnight.

I've been using Amazon UK for the last 5-6 years for ALL my games and I can't recall any time in the past when they've offered this.

Which is why I'm confused because usually they get most games to me on release day anyway. But I think I'm going to get this first class malarky anyway.

Just in case ;).

Amazon UK have pretty much always offered free "get there eventually" delivery, and for an extra charge, First Class delivery which is usually the next day after dispatch. They then started offering guaranteed next day delivery as an option.

None of these guarantee a game for launch day though because it depends on when they ship them out, and of course the postal service.

Thanks for the heads-up! I checked my July pre-order to see if they had changed my stated shipping automatically and...nope :boggled:. Curious, I switched my shipping request to normal (or regular–whatever they call it) and then back again to release day and **ta-dah**, 99 cents. :cheers:

Amazon might have taken care of this automatically when it shipped, as they do this with pre-order sales prices, but in the end, I hate having to write to someone in order correct something :irked:, which I could have put right myself.

Yeah, I got this e-mail too. Just wanted to note that release-day delivery is free for Prime members.

Seeing as to how I've had it pre-ordered since like 2007, it'd better show up at my door on release day. :lol:

edit: and it's not in there? even though i have the reciept for collectors edition w/ overnight shipping? amazon's getting a call tomorrow.

However this time I cannot seem to find anyone who will take a store pre-order for the CE in the UK. Game will do it for the SE but I think thats a little too expensive.

So it looks like AmazonUK or Play this time with the extra delivery charge.

Nope. They offer UPS value, 3 day, 2 day, and overnight. Under overnight it says 1 business day for processing and 1 day for transit. I'm not sure whether that day of processing will be the 1st or 2nd of NOV.

Of course not, the CE is exclusive to Amazon and Play, while the SE is exclusive to the GAME Group.

I paid a bit extra for 1st class delivery on the CE from Amazon. While it may not quarantee dispatch in time for launch day, it does mean that when they do dispatch it, chances are it will arrive the next day.
 
I've just changed my delivery for the CE from Amazon UK to first class for an extra £2. This should mean it is delivered on 3rd November as this is what it says on the basket page next to the first class option when you pre-order it > get it on its release day: Wednesday, November 3.
