Xbox??? Who is this Xbox??
AMD has its new A Series APU's on sale, claiming to be an accelerated processing unit. the A6 has a 2.6 GHZ processor with an integrated Radeon 6530 which is apparently discrete level. Then, there is the A8, clocked at 2.9 ghz and an integrated 6550 GPU in it. Both cost 115 and 135 dollars (Canadian) respectively. Your thoughts?

That's actually pretty darn cool. Almost makes me want to reconsider the build list I have. ALMOST. I'd like to see how it does in a few months though before I think about taking a dive into it.

I think I would wait for bulldozer for the top model with the 8 core and 6990 graphics(I think this is scaled down for integration with the CPU. It should be discrete graphics like as these SPU but I think it does not include the northbridge in the chip). Though if I were making a PC for a person who wants lower specs and use less energy as possible I would go this route.

Yeah, it's the answer to the question no body asked. "Who wants a CPU with integrated graphics which are better than Intel's, but still below $90 discrete cards, and can't really play games at modern resolutions".

However, I'm all for integrated graphics getting better, so it is a step in the right direction, hopefully they persist with it.

The problem I read from the review was that there isn't any really good way to stably overclock it without messing up other features.

I do love the idea of integrated graphics though. They just need to get it hammered down right.

I'm more disappointed in the fact that they're still not very improved on the processor front (the Stars K10/10.5 architecture isn't exactly cutting edge), as opposed to the GPU not being exceptionally powerful (it's still the most powerful 'integrated GPU' around, actually).

Llano is meant more to target the low power market or mobile devices.
Also, word is, the APU will soon be a 'true APU' - the GPU will actually step into all general purpose operations, giving the CPU a good boost in everything it does.

I do hope Bulldozer is the revolution we're hoping for. I'm pretty pissed off about its delay since I was intending to buy it this month.
