I'm a new player and I remember this car (silver version) on Forza 2 I set a lot of records in it, was surprised it drives exactly the same on here (if not better) it absolutely flies around any track!

I could post my tune but if you haven't tried it the default is ok, default gears are good. I use mine at 550pp -The amount of downforce and lift off oversteer that never loses traction make this an amazing car.

I haven't tried it in an online race yet or done any time trials, but I'm pretty sure this could be a top car, what's anyone else think of it? Gona try it on Nordschleife in a bit :)

In my opinion it's a very versatile car, one of 2 RX-7's I have in my garage ( the RX-7 TC is the other one ). Can't go wrong with them. One of the few cars I haven't tinkered with come to think of it, just use it completely stock.

I really enjoyed this car in GT5, so as soon as I found out I could win it, it was mine. But this time in GT6, it may be bugged. Just look at the difference in stats from going from mid to high turbo, and you'll get what I mean.

Cheers

Hm I use the mid turbo, didn't have a close look at the numbers going to high turbo. I know a lot of cars lose HP going from mid to high unless you mean something else?

With these types of cars, I try to keep them as is, but bolt-on parts is ok by me. Going to a mid RPM turbo will get you up to 589hp/589pp. If you look at the high RPM turbo, you gain 31(ish) hp but lose 2 pp. Kind of strange in my head, but hey, I don't know everything about the pp system.

Cheers

Doesn't that have anything to do with torque? I always thought the PP-system was based on weight, downforce and torque and not weight, downforce and hp.
The high rpm turbo might add more hp but you might sacrifice some torque, causing the loss of 2 pp

The mid rpm turbo delivers the power along a wider part of the rev range, where as the high rpm turbo only gives you that extra power just before it changes gears, so overall the mid range gives you more power I think.

The RX7 is not alone in the Mid versus High turbo situation you describe. I noticed the same thing on some of the GT300 race cars that I fitted with all the turbo options. I have all of them so I do not specifically remember which ones are like that but it happened a couple times. I agree with @SCER's assessment that it has to do with the power band provided and also that torque plays a role as stated by @Darkcraft.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Good info to know about the PP system, and at least now I know it's not the only car that's affected. Looks like I should read more into it. Thanks people!

Cheers

The Amemiya FD is actually a Touge car meaning its meant to give maximum traction and give good handling for those twisty roads. It has appeared in Hot Version as the entry for the Max Class (in which became the Touge Monster after defeating the 600PS MCR R34 GTR and taking the Monster title for its self after defeating the Amuse S2000 in 2005 Tournament). Amemiya had the title until J's Racing defeated them with their S2000 in rain in 2007 (Amemiya had made a new machine which actually did turbine tuning but the plan went wrong after the power was too much for the rain) so Amemiya faced J's with their new Green (the weird looking one lol) FD and they go back with boosting the OEM twin turbos BUT increasing more to 400PS. Amemiya wins and takes the title back but since Amemiya hasn't been around in Hot Version, J's still have their title

There's a bit of some false things that GT did get wrong though.
The car actually has the stock OEM FD3S gear ratios (it's base car is the Bathurst R '01), suppose to have 374hp which is about 380ps and weighs 1260kg. I don't think the weight distribution was 48:52 if it's almost close to the stock weight of the original car. Anyways, here's the tune I did for it. The car apparently is equipped with Sports Soft as stock which are actually Semi-Slicks. I set the car for Sports Hard which are like Radials.
