American Championship - What Car?

I'm curious what car people have used to win the American Championship in A-Spec. I've use the Chaparral 2J Race Car 1970 and easily won in B-Spec, but can't control the car enough to win in A-Spec.

What other cars have people used? thanks.

Also, is the Corvette G5R siginificanly better than the Camaro LM?

I used the Camaro LM (unmodded) and the Orca Viper and Panoz were on my butt the whole time... That Camaro is a pig! But it worked ok....

Tune the Camaro LM up and it's an unstoppable monster in that race, one of my favorite cars so far....

Yep, I love it too! My mileage has really gone up, because I've been using it everywhere I can. I remember when I was tempted to sell it to put money into other cars. Then I tried it on a test run!

I used the Chaparalla 2D. Won all but the Infineon race. Be warned it only has 3 gears and accelerates poorly so dont crash

I am also having trouble with that series, I have no idea what car to use, I lareayd tired the Camaro LM in B-Spec and I lost the Panoz and 2D were in there....so I dont know what I am going to do...tips hints? thanks!

try that fully tuned Camaro LM in A-Spec mode and you will smoke everybody, include that ugly Panoz

I used the Camaro LM Race Car unmodded and i had no problem winning the series. When i caught up to the Panoz i was all by myself for the rest of the races, that Camaro drives on rails, atleast for me anyways.

Yes that Camaro Race car is a beast, I never got to use the thing in GT3 but it sure as hell is impressive in GT4.

I tried racing the Camaro LM without mods in ib class & was destroyed by the Chaparral, the best I clould place was 3rd. I guess it's time to mod it up.

Its good in stock form, but with these settings (from GT3 when it was called the "Camaro Race Car"), its just a missile.

Have you tried any settings on that site for the Viper GTS? I've been looking for a good setting, played around with one of those in GT3 but I don't know which one would be the best.

The Chaparrals have Automatic transmissions!
The 2J is quicker than the 2D.

Where did you get the chaparral?
Does it handle better than an F1? I heard it makes over 1000lbs of downforce at all times due to its vacume ground effects.

I also used the Camaro race car. It was a bit of a nervous chamionship, because nearly every race the 2J race car got stuck behind all of the other cars, and a few laps later he broke free and started to hunt me down, quite scary.
