I have the money to buy a Ford GT or a Corvette. The thing is that the GT costs way more than the Corvette and it only has 49 more horsepower. The Corvette also doesnt weigh much but I dont know how much the GT does, I expect it to be a little bit heavier.

The question is, should I spend a lot more money on a GT? Is the Corvette equally as good?

Tell me what you think, people.
 
Moved because it has nothing to do with race events.
 
From my personal testing the GT is faster, but is more difficult and takes a different approach to keep it together and produce fast reliable lap times.
 
Buy the Ford GT LM. Learn how to drive it and you will be rewarded with many wins.

I already bought the Corvette and I have a pretty decent setup, I got up to 215MPH. I'll buy the GT LM as soon as I can.

Your Welcome.

When you first get it, don't be turned off by how much you will suck with it. With a good tune and some pacience that GT is by far the fastest car in the entire game behind the F2007.

The tuned Corvette comes pretty damn close.
 
It was a tough choice for me too. But I went with Ford GT even tho I would have HARDER time to control that beast. Later i got the Vette ;) hehe
So GT LM is fast one in game right after 2007? then Vette? where does the Viper fit in? (tuned)
 
Both cars are great, but very different animals. In my experience, you'll never pass the S events without the GT LM, although I'm sure people have done it with the 'Vette.
The 'Vette is really, really fast, though, and pretty easy to drive comparatively.
Face it, you'll own them both eventually if you keep playing.

My fave car in the whole game is the tuned Z06 vette. I did all my golds in S with it. It's slightly slower than the GT so you can't afford to mess up even once. But then again it's easier not to mess up in it.

Good point. Although you really can't afford to mess up in ANY car on the S-7 and S-10!

True, but in the GT Test Car I managed a win with 1 penalty. Never managed that in the Z06 Tuned. But in the GT TC no matter how much I use it, it still fells like pure luck when I win with it. The Z06 is MUCH easier to be consistant in.
 
I changed my mind about the tuned Vette, I tried it out and..wow does the car go.. Its as fast as the GT. ;) My tune anyways.
 
If you are that kinda driver that likes a challenge...go with the GT now if you just wanna get in, drive and win easily go with the Vette! Now don't get me wrong.....the GT wins too but it takes a certain skill to master its handling and power! in any case if I were I would get both just so you get comfortable with both of them.
 
Thanks for everything, guys. Currently, I do not have the game, I had to return it to Blockbuster yesterday. I'm going to buy it, now it's even better if I buy it off Amazon. $15 gift card. :D

Are you playing on Pro Physics, and only relating to the American Muscle Car Series? I ask only because as an older person, I have managed to win S-7 and S-10, supposedly among the most strenous 'S' Class events, very easily, and with many different cars on Standard Physics.

I did not consider the American Muscle Car events to be any challenge at all, with several cars....using Standard Physics.

Many people came to the forums and complain right away that they bought game and did not like it lol.. too bad for them... :sly:

Me on the other hand, I bought it because I love GT games..

My friend let me borrow his copy, I used his GT LM. People here were saying that it's rubbish when you start but i fell in love with the car. I did 4 laps in Suzuka, my best lap time was 2 mins 8 secs. I know I'm not the best driver. Hehe.

I did it on standard physics. While I am a bit obsessed with the game, I know that there are people out there who are much better drivers than I, and realy sticklers for pro physics and no driving aids. I still need a couple of the crutches.

I drove with ASM off and TCS on 3, it was a tad bit difficult. I changed everything to 0 (ASM, TCS) and I found it really hard, I was quite tense. I play with a SIXAXIS, do you guys find it easier with a wheel?

With the wheel you have much more precision, so a wheel should be much easier when you get used to it.

With a force feedback wheel, it's like a whole different game. The wheel rules.
