The Focus used to be, but I think in 2010 they standardized them to be the same on both sides of the pond. I might be wrong, my old mind isn't as sharp as it used to be.

You're pretty much right on with this one. Ford has started a new effort to standardize their fleet worldwide. Which is why this year we've got the Ford Focus that the rest of the world has, and that I've been envious of for so long. And back in late 2010 we finally saw the return of the Fiesta. Their new catchphrase is "One world, one Ford". Granted there's some models we probably won't see, like the Ka or the Kuga, but there rumors abound that we may finally get the Mondeo, and many of Ford's current lineup in the states reflects the "kinetic design" that many have enjoyed for a while now.

GM is also starting to standardize the fleet as well. The new Cruze is the newest car which is available in Europe, Asia, and the United States, and the Aveo has been out in Europe (saw one in Oslo a while back) for some time now.
