I know posts about this have been up,but..
Is it impossible to get Golds without using a Racing Wheel?

I have silvers in all Beginner,Intermediate, and in Advanced, just cant seem to get that extra bit to get the Gold no matter what i do.

As for Expert, ive give in with that completely, even if a track is completely soaked, your still supposed to be able to brake ,im going off the track at 5mph rather than 100mph ,the car just doesnt want to stop whatever speed your doing.
Also, on the straights im doing wheel spins at 100mph +

Now im a decent player at this game, and like a good challenge, but this for me seems an impossibility..!!

If it can help you, i did all gold in the AMG Driving School with a DS3. It is possible.

Personally, the more challenging test was the last (full dry lap) of the intermediate level (SLS AMG)

👍

No, they are possible, but you need to leave them for a while, go do some races on the track, you will find seconds in every corner...

I thought the same after a couple of tries, but I left it, and went on with the game, last night I tried the dry run with the 300sl, golded it first try, 5 seconds to spare.

Btw: The wet runs are much easier than the dry ones, both full runs I golded 1 try, with 20 and 27 seconds to spare.

I too am having problems golding these events.....i think each event requires total dedication(like 1-2 hours of constant trying)and driving aids should all be off(abs included).

I have to try better anyway, golding these hasnt been a priority for me...yet.

Only hard thing about this challenge is to learn the track. Maybe look at the example video of AI, that might help to see some new lines ? The time margin set to beat gold is quite low (you can have a spin or two but still get gold) So main thing is consistency!

Advanced was ironicly the easyest one for me (golded every section in first try except one of the shorter sections) Not trying to brag, just want to make people understand that trying to hard on this event will bite you...focus on a steady speed and gold should not be far away 👍

Yup, golded them with a controller too. It isn't too terribly hard, just takes practice and being able to maintain great speed through corners.

Yeah, here the same. I began to believe i was the new M. Schumacher and then i crashed against the Grand Tour Alfa Romeo 8C infamous event, trying to gold :indiff:

I need .024 seconds on that run 👎

All silvers here as well, but I didn't even try for gold for some reason. I've got gold on all special events but the Red Bull challenge and AMG Driving Acadamey.

Not sure why, but I played until I got silver and then just moved along. Could have just been me not really caring for the Benz's it wanted you to drive...

Tip that worked with me: All aids off, abs 1 and manual gears. Then you force third gear turn before tunnel and 2nd/3rd in the last turn. Hope it helps you. 👍

For AMG Driving School, all aids off + abs 1 in dry conditions.

For the 300SL it definitely takes some effort and patience. I found it helpful to watch the example run and note the speed through various corners. I noticed that there were a few corners that I was taking about 10mph slower than I needed to. Also, on the fast sweeping sections, you should try to avoid sliding as much as possible. I found I was scrubbing off a couple of mph in the start of sector 3 in particular.

Also, don't assume that you know where you're losing your time. Try to peek at the clock at certain reference points. I wish they gave us more splits or at least a ghost. I would have sworn that I was losing all of my time in sector 2 in the first section, when I turned out to be losing it all in the double right-hander.

Finally, I've noticed that you generally lose time by going over the curbs. Focus on just touching the curb on the apex and the one on the exit, but try not to attack them too aggressively.

I haven't worked on golding the SLS ones yet, so maybe someone has some specific tips for that car?

I'm about halfway through with golds. It's a lot of fun and challenging. One of my favorite events around my favorite track.

The advanced is the easiest because the times are so forgiving. Basically keep the car on the track and short shift. High revs are useless in those conditions.

As for wheel vs pad, I'd say the nurburgring is one of the more pad friendly tracks because it's so high speed, I've not golded everything yet my self but I can see it's doable.

I've also golded the whole lot with a pad. As others have said the full lap in the tuned SLS is the hardest. On one run I did of that I was .004 off the gold time. Just .004 around the whole ring, I couldn't believe it.

same here. i couldnt settle for bronze but when i got at least silver i moved on. i might revisit it later on if i run out of event or races to do.

I say this to encourage you, I hope you take it the right way:

The wet races are very easy to get gold. As the description says, you must treat it as a different car and more importantly DIFFERENT TRACK.

I played GT4 and ran the Nürburgring countless times before going to Germany and spending days there just driving the 'ring back in 2008.

I silvered all the AMG Driving Schools on my first try, but to get gold I had to dig a little deeper. I dug out my old 2006 Circuit Guide Nürburgring book, which I used to train for the 'ring on GT4.

I've now got gold in all but one or two events. I hope to gold those this weekend. They aren't easy, but they are possible, they just require driving that near perfect lap.

The biggest tip I can offer is to turn off the driving line, it's garbage.

Gold is doable with the DS3. Some sections are tougher than others. As I recall the times were tougher to beat in the dry than the wet.

I think the key to the Nurburgring is (#1) knowing the track, and (#2) learning which turns (curbs) you can cut, and which to avoid. Both of these take practice. Fortunately the "sections" approach makes learning the track easier. Keep with it, you'll get it!!!!

I settled for Silvers in all too, to come back later for Golds. I too found the wet races easier, as I do in the A-Spec events. Anyone really struggling with wet races, you are just pushing way too hard. Try to take it pretty easy and complete a lap cleanly, you shouldn't be stepping out too much, and you might be surprised just how well you do. Then build on it. Start out slow, and get faster...not the other way around :)

Practice is your best friend in these events :)

I'm a big lover of the 'ring so managed to gold all but the dry sls full lap with the controller (I managed to get within .500 seconds thou).

Hang in there mate and you will crack it.. the prize cars and money are worth the extra time.

I love this event, I hope PD sends a few down the pipeline for seasonal events. M3 GTR, MB SLS AMG, Corvette ZR 1 and Z06 all on the Nur for fantastic catch me if you can races. Not all at the same time, I mean each seasonal event change would have you using one of these cars whipping around the Nur.

Side note, this newest Event Update seems to be easier than the last ones. I got gold on my first try on the Nur GP/D course with almost 2 laps to spare. My car was stock too, the AI was set to like the lowest level or something, they took corners are incredibly slow speeds. PD needs to give us an extreme setting for the AI where they drive hard core, no wimping out.
