IMHO the Amuse is the best handling car hp for hp in the game. It turns, it's planted, everything that I cant seem to get the RGT to do. On the 'ring (where, in my mind, the Porsche belongs) the RUF is bouncing around like an infant in a walking-stroller.

My suspension settings are as follows:
11.0/13.0 kg/mm
68/81
8/8
8/8
3.0/3.2
7/7

Ive tried swapping the spring rates around and it just understeers like a bitch, evening them closer together makes the car understeer, and I just can seem to get this car to take the bumps and stay planted at the same time. It's fully tuned w/ SS tires (569hp). Ill give more detail later, but Ive got to make breakfast and get off to math. thanks for any input.

I am a rubbish 'Ring tuner but I'd say your springs are too hard, your ride heights too low, your dampers too stiff and uncomplementary of each other, bit too much camber especially on the rear and the stiffness way too high on the strut bars.

Its just way too stiff for the 'Ring in every dept! The effects of which will be amplified if you have a rollcage installed as well.

im not much of a RUF tuner but your settings look way too stiff. You said you like the amuse s2000, well copy a few things here and there from the s2000's setup and go from there. Iknow that trick worked for me with my ford GT cause i copied a few things from my spec 2 racer to my black and silver one and it works like a dream.

Spot on, all of that is correct. +REP 👍

Lower the dampers dramatically, to at most 5 for each setting, and lower the Sway Bars to 2 each. Softening your springs to 9.0/11.0 will help too.

well the spring rates for the Amuse were 14.0/12.0 and it handles like a dream. Im going to try some different tracks and see if I can mimick the same results.

Yes but thats a totaly different car, with a different drivetrain layout, different weight distribution, different load transfer, etc.

You can just say that because set-up 'A' works for one car then the same theory can be used for another car. You have to set each car up in its own right, particularly for the 'ring.

BTW - I agree your RGT set-up is far too stiff, particularly in regard to the dampers, which play a huge part of any 'ring set-up.

cool thanks for the pointers...I just finished a few laps in both cars on Infineon. 1'26.481 to 1'27.165...slightly faster time for the RGT...in my book, both evenly matched. RGT felt much more at home on this track...the first lap was good, second lap better, 3rd best, but all within 2 seconds of each other. Took me a few laps to get use to it in the R1, but still managed to come very close to my RGT time.

EDIT: Going back to the 'ring in the RGT with this setup
7.6/9.9 kg/mm
71/80 <--- preset
5/5
5/5
2.0/1.0
0/0
2/2

well see what happens, brb

You might find the GT4 tuning guides I put together useful (you will find a link in my sig) particularly when it comes to damper tuning.

Download and print them out.

good shot: 6:32.403 and im pretty confident I could drop another 5+ sec. off of that with more practice. Much better than the 6:43s I was pulling. My question: Why set the stabilizers so low?

Because they have a massive effect when a car encounters a bump, as they physically link the left and right of the car.

A bump that one side encounters will be transmitted directly to the other side, not a great idea at speed.

As I say download and read the guide, it explains all (and I do mean that).

i drive nearly all of my cars with 2 / 4 stabilizer-settings and this works great, especially for RWD-cars. and use Scaff's guides, they're really good 👍
