My mom's the same way – she thinks that my dad and I don't totally pay attention to the road, but we both have very good spatial vision and scan pretty far ahead. In fact, I've gotten in the habit of moving my head in really obvious motions when looking around just to get her off my case.
 
I never thought of that, what If I blow up there mailbox and write on their windscreen...
 
Actually Stratos, I was just like you that when I first was learning to drive. I kinda freaked out when it came time to move from the parking lot onto the streets. But now I really like to drive, mainly cause of the car I drive. And its not even a nice car! '93 Toyota pickup with an inline 4. But, its a stick, and its REALLY light.....so it's fun to drive. And I actually like not having power steering (except when I'm trying to park :irked: ). It gives a good feel of the road compared to the two other family cars (ES300 and Infinity QX4). So......I say that you'll get to like driving once you start going out regularly. But you still gotta watch out for the other idiots on the road :mad:.
btw.....my dad always says: "If all those other idiots on the road can drive, surely you can."

I used too think the samething, intill i got my skyline now i dont think i could live without power assisted steering (its nice and easy for parking and stiffens up at speed)
