If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you’re a member of the Gran Turismo Forum at www.granturismo.com, or at least know what that forum is. The GTF has been around for over five years now, and through it many of us have found entertainment, attended parties, made friends and been part of an active and ever-changing online community. The GTF has seen rough times in the past, and many members have left for a variety of reasons. People lose Internet access, get new jobs, run out of time to post online, or just get fed up with policies or members. People go their own way.

Recently, the owner of the GTF had decided that his forum had become too unfocused and his goals in life as well as his desires for the focus of his forum have changed. Being the owner, he had the right to make a decision about the direction his forum should turn so he closed down the off-topic section (The Pit Stop) of the forum. Many of the members of his site spread to various forums across the net, looking to keep the ties with the friends they made at the GTF in tact, but in doing so we’ve all become quite divided. Most of you know the story of what happened over at the GTF, and what still continues to happen today, so I’ll end that discussion here and not bore you with the details.

The purpose of this announcement is to inform those of you who were once members of the GTF, either up until recently or up until quite long ago, that many of us are working to rebuild the “Gran Turismo Forum community.” We’ve built a new site with the sole aim of reuniting those that wish to continue being a part of that community, or to rejoin it from long ago. It’s a continuing project, and it’s been very fast in the making so obviously some adjustment, ironing of bugs, and installation of features is necessary, but with a little patience we should have a strong community once again.

We invite you to join (or rejoin) us at: http://www.granturismox.net

This isn’t an attempt to draw members away from this forum, as some of us have very focused interests that draw us to a wide variety of online bulletin boards. We hope that those of you posting at this forum will continue doing so in addition to joining our community. We hope to have one central place where new friends and old friends alike can communicate with one another and have meaningful online discussions, and that’s all.

Hey Skulljockey, I had only begun to return to GTF when I saw the big implosion. I don't think that Kenji realized what type of life his forum had created and where it had gone without his involvement. It did seem to be rather fast on his part, and I thin kthat's one of the biggest gripes I had.

I'm sure you'll find a few GTF'ers around here.

Good luck,

Till later,

AO

Apart from being a touch slow, it's pretty nice. I'm glad i remember a few names there. :)

Thanks for the heads up, skulljockey. 👍

I was once a member of the Gran Turismo Forum.
Any members here, and what ever happened to that place?

Wow, this is a super old thread!

I remember hearing about the issues at the GTF a long time ago. Can someone please reexplain it with a few details? My memory does not serve me too well.

Umm, isn't that what GTPlanet is?

Edit: Just saw the thread date. :p
