Hoping someone can help, twofold question really. I want to play a couple of PS3 games online but I don't want to invest in a headset, as I would sooner just use something like Skype to talk aloud "in the room". Unfortunately my mate whom I'll be playing PS3 Minecraft with can't hook up to Skype where he uses his PS3.
There are tons of things like this on eBay and many say they are PS3 compatible, though I am not at all interested in the 7.1 effects and whatnot, which appear to require drivers on PC, so a no-no on the PS3.
I was more wondering if this would also act as a simple analog-digital adaptor, allowing me to plug my old analog mic I use on my PC into my PS3? Would the PS3 "recognise" the mic signal via the adaptor?
Then presumably I will hear my friend through the TV on top of the regular SFX of the game, as I do when I play GT online? Or do headsets separate the voice signal in some way and if so presumably then I could hook up some mini speakers to the output jack on this adaptor?
