...as the Great One used to say ;) (10 points for any of you youngsters who knows who the Great One was)

Terrific Job, Jordan, getting the Leaderboard up and going. 👍

Various tracks are already accumulating times, and I expect them to build momentum as folks start assaulting the database.

I'd like to suggest that we wait on securing verification replays until either

1)There are at least 10 significant submissions for a particular track, or

2) Someone queries a particular time

Speaking of time queries, is there going to be an overall "Query" thread, or are we going to let folks post a thread for each particular submission they wish to query?

I think that the verifications will highly be called by others that have driven it and suspect a time is embellished. At that point, we'd have to check it.

yes/no?

BTW, I think Jackie Gleason was often called "the Great One"

I'm sure at some point, some of the submitted times will be questioned in the Public forums, especially times submitted by relative unknown drivers. No doubt if a known driver-in-good-standing queries a time, we are bound to investigate.

My question is more "Is there going to be a general query thread?" available for the drivers to query a particular time. My concerns are that I'd like to avoid seeing thread titles like "Sub 4:00 at Nürburgring?!!! NFW!!!" and other negative thread titles...it will be hard enough to monitor posts within a general query thread for potential flame situations, without seeing "flamish" thread titles.

On this particular subject of flaming, could we add "no flaming" under the general guidlines for querying times? There is going to be a General Guideline for submitting and Querying times, isn't there?

Oh, and BTW AO, does a 1972 birthdate still qualify you as a youngester? :p ;)

Hmmm.... Well, its really up to us. Jordan has appointed Kent, you and Mr. P to this duty. I'm really just helping out where I can. What do you think? Should there be a General Query thread, or should there individual queries? Should a member querying another do so in a PM to one of the staff in here? Or is there another way? You've carried a Whuppin stick for a while, what do you think there should be?

I think there should be a general guideline, and in order for a time to be queried it has to be done in a well mannered way.

Damn, I had hoped I was still a youngster. After all Mr. P has 4 kids, and I don't have any :D

OK, for queried times, I can setup a simple form that will send an email to all of you guys. This would keep it entirely out of the public eye. I think I can also set up a forum that would only allow users to see their own threads, while giving LVC members the ability to see them all. But I'm not sure.

Wayne Gretzky?

Sorry Boom, the youngster, Der Alta already got it...though I agree that Gretzky was also a Great One. ;)

Jordan, the idea for the semi-private forum is superb. I have a problematic email client, which sometime loses emails when I hit the mailserver, so a forum like you described would work well for me. Any progress on that?
