I've seen a lot of posts about planet side 2 ( from here on referred to as ps2 ) especially in the general discussion about ps4 , so here's a separate thread for it . I have a few questions firstly can you use a xbox controller to play with it . Secondly does anybody think it's worth making a account in it .

If anybody is already playing it feel free to share your user name and form a group :D .

The PS4 tag in the title is because they are releasing it for the ps4 to .

If anybody wants to join here's the link - https://www.planetside2.com/register
And here's the ign review for it - http://www.ign.com/games/planetside-2/pc-14242769

Yeah, I think it's worth playing. I've not played it a huge amount myself, but what I did play was pretty great. I wouldn't bother using a controller (and I assume you can, but I don't know for sure) unless you just want to pilot vehicles (I guess) since you'll most likely get various parts of your anatomy handed to you by keyboard and mouse players, this is true of any multiplayer game.

I can't remember what my username is, but then I don't actively play it so whatever. Most free to play games use their own downloader/launchers so Steam can't automatically update them, therefore I never keep them up to date, then when I get the urge to play them I'm greeted by at least 1GB of downloads. This has killed so many great games for me; PS2, Blacklight: Retribution and War Thunder being the main ones. I wish someone would make a program that schedules these updates...

Edit: Oh, 20 seconds of Googling brought this up. Nice.

I've been into the game a lot lately, with 200+ hours played. I've joined up with an outfit who run OPs nights a few times per week and it's great fun, although the game is enjoyable when playing solo as well 👍 The only problem the game has is that during "off-hours", such as in the early afternoon on weekdays, there usually isn't any good fights due to a lack of players (at least on the server I play on). During prime time though there is always plenty of action.

As for controller support, from a quick google search it appears that you can get an xbox controller to work, but it isn't properly supported. Honestly if you want to play with a controller I would just wait for the PS4 release. You won't have to worry about setting up your controller, and it will be a more equal playing field as you won't have to worry about mouse+keyboard players.

As for making an account, it's certainly worth it as the game is free-to-play. Just be aware that the game has a bit of a learning curve. I would recommend playing the medic class at first, focusing on healing/reviving people until you start to get the hang of things. This way you can support your teammates, and in the process learn the game as you follow them around.

I have been thinking about making an account but I don't have access to my laptop
If anybody feels like you are more than welcome to start a team or group etc ( as I can't play right now I'm not sure wether you can do that though :p) . Also this will be my first proper PC mmofps game does anybody recommend planetside 2 as a beginners game ( albeit with a little practice in moving and shooting games such as armor mayhem etc )

Edit - can anybody tell me what's the deal with the station name alphanumeric etc , can't wrap my head round it
