Personally, I'm not one to judge a video based on the music used... but I know it can help with the personallity of the video.

I want to know what the majority of the opinion on acceptable music for videos is in the community. What most people find enjoyable. Hopefully people making videos besides myself will take a look at this when deciding to choose a BGM for their drifts.

Thanks GTP Members.

What? Are you asking what kind of music we like?
Well if so then i like Initial D style music, techno, euro trance, stuff like Castles In The Sky by Ian Van Dahl

Just about anything except for Initial D music and Country-Western should be fine for a video.

I still want to see somebody use the song 'Drifter' by In Flames.

I completely agree... If I see another video with eurobeat music I'm going to rip my Dual Shock from it's port and insert it into the nearest person...

Also, Emo, Punk, Ska, or any other substanderd musical genre...

I was thinking about using "Drifter" for a vid... I have been thinking of using that song for a while...

Didn't IDM do that? Or am i confused?

You are confused...

I used "Drifting Sideways" for the IDM vid...

i really hope you are joking. lol.

i like eurobeat but by other artists besides initial d....

i also like any rock, metal, classic rock, and nerdcore rap. some goofy ass boso style stuff is cool too.....but i dunno what would classify as that.

Ok, don't do this. And also rap, don't use rap.

yeah. rap sucks...except some nerdcore stuff...

(lol, remember dogg turismo 3? omgwtfbbq)

kthnxbye.

Hmm...well Vinkento...

I see what you mean I suppose, but it really all boils down to the prefrence of the videomaker/drifter in question and yes, the music dictates a general mood or theme for a video a lot of the time. Sometimes it’s intentional, other times it could be accidental or even on some level metaphoric somehow (then again I must have been the first to think about trying that kind of idea...), it really depends. But I could be wrong but that’s how I see it.

I don’t think there should be some general rule...then again...it really depends on what the person whats to do. It’s whatever floats someone’s boat. For me, it’s a preaty broad range...here are a few examples of what I would use for music and perhaps even why...

Notorious B.I.G. - Warnning

Beck - Where it’s at - this was from Gt2 as far as I know (prob an ending song but I never got to finsih GT2...) so I may play it in a GT3 video as hommage, but also becuase i like this song...

Molly Hatchet - Flirtin’ with Diaster - I heard this song in NASCAR 98 (don’t start...) and I enjoyed hearing it and Country is not my usuall thing (hell, I don’t listein to a LOT of country...but I grew attached to this song...and don’t start...)... I would use this for maybe a video with a bunch of American muscle cars or even just the general idea to the song that someone is always ‘flirtin with disaster’ as would be a case (then again you could search for the right lyrics...and maye even given the song a listen or two...).

Notorious B.I.G. - Warning - I guess since I have an all but unbiased opnion on music in general, I feel a little off when someone says not to use rap music save for the true hardcore rappers, the dead ones inculded too (R.I.P Bigge Smalls, and Tup-Pac...and Jam Master Jay...) but it’s opnion and not much else, I haven’t found a real place to use this song...maybe for opening intoductions or credits with drift out takes or something or stuff that did not make it into a video or proff I did something without using something (I make no sense don’t I?) like the handbrake. I dunno... I could come up with a few more rap songs but I bet I’ll get flamed for too many reasons, most of them I don’t know or would undersatnd for idoit reasons.

Pulse Ultra - Build your cages - Alternatve Rock and also a song I liked a lot in Need For Speed Hot Prusuit 2. Just a song I like.

Abadoned Pools - Sunny day, and Mercy Kiss - Becuase I stumbled on these songs and they feel right to do some GT3 drifting video with... and becuase I like them...enough said...

U - TsuiTsui - From Ridge Racer V, Tsui Tsui sounds like the kind of song that has a sense of intensity, or ‘anger’ if you will... maybe that’s how I see it...it seams like a drift song approite for showing off for example...drifting if you were angry or pissed and actually managed to remotely express this on the track Al La Takumi on ep 15 of Stage 1. Infact I do have one replay of me drifting around Apricot hill that was titled ‘PISSED’ I dunno if I actually recall being angry or not when I did it but it would explain why I was all over the place and drifted like I didn’t care at all yet looked good but wreckles and crazy.

Tension - Everybody’s Warming -This was from Initial D Ep 19, I like song simply stated and it’s a song I would consider for a drifing video, that and a few other Initial D songs (well actually a lot, there’s running in the 90’s by Max Cover I, Love and Money by Za Za, Golden Age by Max Cover I, and so forth...)... I’m aware Initial D is not for everyone... and some people would want to kill someone if they heard one more thing that even smelled like eurobeat in any relation what so ever... but I like it so sorry...

I could go on with lists of songs but it really depends. Whatever floats someone’s boat...usually msuic from games are usually a good choice...usually anywho... some could disagree but well...whatever you want and like...

Keep it coming GTP community, more feedback! The videos people create are for you! I wouldn't like to see any videos cut down because they didn't know what music to aim for as a BGM.

Help our video makers make better videos for you!

Im with R_Riders on this one... personal preference.. use whateva YOU like... whether it be Eurobeat, Disco, Rap, Rock... you will never be able to please everyone.. that's a known fact...

Just a side-note... music that was never dissed (as far as I know)... are DJ mixes and Drum and Bass... *hint*-*hint* :)

I like the older stuff sometimes. But drum and bass can be good just cause it kinda "Sucks" you into the vid when the editing is correct.

Gospel wouldn't fit at all but some other intrumental(non techno) would be cool every now and again.

If I ever get the chance to get a Sharkport and be able to make a video, I'll definitely use a Chinese song for it, LOL :P

A capture card would be your best bet... A Sharkport will just transfer the data (that is decoded by the GT3 disc)... A Sharkport doesn't transfer the actual media file...

I personally like techno or rock
But its up to the person who is makin the vid though

I personally want to see a vid with "ready, steady, go"
I think that would be pretty cool to watch

or has someone did that already?

I want to see ( wait no hear) Marley. Basically be creative. Almost any Genre can be excellent if well coordinated with the visuals. Classic rock would be very cool but could be hard. I think Jazz would be the easiest to make a good video with, but then again it's jazz and very few people would like that.

You mean by Two-Mix? That song's crazy...

I was talking about Oakenfold

And by saying Two-Mix are you saying Two-mix from Japan?
Or just someone else?

and I think another good one would be "accelerator" from darude
or "misspent years", "artificial heart" by kazell
anything with kazell would be a good one
but it might be alittle hard to synch the music

Catch-my-Drift?

you are right on the money there! some of my vids are coming soon, i am choosing that genre of BGM its what i'm into and its something different.

i'd use dillinja, but it gets a little dark and repetative at points....the songs are also kinda long.

however, i know of a few good songs that could be put to use, both by him and other artists alike.
