This was given to me as a gift. It’s not something I would have gone and done on my own. And please don’t feel you need to point out “it’s the thought that counts”.

I knew the cars were speed limited but I figured it would still be fun to lap the speedway in an open wheel car. (Phoenix International)

Not really.

The cars were limited to 120mph. But 120 in the turns should be exciting…

Nope. You were required to lift completely before you got to the turn and coast through the turn. And engine braking meant coasting down to 50 in the turns.
They tell you passing is allowed but only when the spotter clears you and then only after following the slow car for a lap.

When you actually had open track and the spotter cleared you to go fast, you piled into the rev limiter halfway down the straight.

I couldn’t wait to get out of the car.

I will give them the benefit that they have to accommodate the lowest skilled drivers and probably couldn’t safely allow any higher speeds (especially after the woman was killed at one of their events). But for me it was just frustrating.
