Android 4.1.2 battery level acting weird

By "acting weird" I mean that it goes down down down as expected but then decides to pop back by 2% or so, refuses to go down at all during a long call and then crashes 50% at once, only gives me one low battery warning during a call (because it refuses to go down) at 15% or so and the next thing I realize is the entire thing shutting down at 1%... not good.

The phone in question is a Sony Xperia V, not rooted. The situation looks very odd to me as my previous Xperia Arc S had 4.0.4 and the battery indicator was absolutely flawless. Any good ideas?

I would try contacting SONY's support and see what they say.

I had (and still have) some (other) problems with my Xperia J, and I was adviced to use the "repair tool" in the companion software (which I haven't done yet).
