How to capitalise on the success of AB on other platforms by releasing it on the consoles:

Bundle HD updates of Angry Birds Original, Seasons, Rio, Space and Bad Piggies and put it out on xbox live marketplace/PSN for about £9.99/$12.99

How not to do it:

Put out a really buggy, laggy version of the original game only on PSN, and release "Angry Birds Trilogy" retail disc, which collates only Original, Seasons and Rio for an appallingly expensive £29.99 on xbox.

If you sell it, they will buy.. Those same mindless sheep that buy latest smartphone or gadget because it's new.. They will go for it.

Pretty much

People are not mindless sheep, they are controlled by much more intelligent one. If you do something good then it will sell it self.

Angry Birds is the most overrated game ever. But people love it.

I cannot comprehend why people would buy this though. You can get this game for free! Sure it is smaller, but man it is the same game.

USSR, you are right that good things sell themselves. It is however beyond me, how people find this game to be good.

Beats me either, there have been very similar flash games to that for years before and really once you've done 20 or so levels it gets very boring very fast.

An FYI. Even if it says its a trilogy, there will be more than 3 games. It wont end at the 3rd game.

There are already four games. I don't understand all the hatred. I certainly wouldn't buy it at that price, but I have all four on my phone. They're cheap and provide a little distraction when I have a few minutes to kill and don't have time for a game of GTA.

I hate it because I played the same type of game for free since ages as flashgames. I find it ridiculous to release a game like this with a pricetag on it and the hype around it annoyes me. Same with Doodle Jump.

I like the games a lot, but they are all free on Android (with ads if you are connected to the net) and about 0.69 on iPhone. There have been four games plus the recent spin off Bad Piggies (which is excellent) but the "Trilogy" omits Angry Birds Space. Apparently there will be DLC too, but there still is for the Android/ios games anyway (some "Bad Piggies"-plugging levels were recently added to the original game if you update it)

I honestly think proportionately they would sell a ton more console remakes if they were set at a reasonable price. These are casual, simple games perfect for a phone, no way should they be released as a full-price console game.

Actually, they come for free on iOS as well (ad-versions), only the ad-less versions cost money. I guess a fair price would be around 2-3 euros per game.

There have been very similar flash games since DOS. All Angry Birds did was polish the concept greatly and make it very easy to approach with a player versus targets mindset. Add in cute graphics and you have a winner for casual gaming audiences, which are far larger than "serious" gamers.

Ahhhh Scorched Earth, played that so much back then. 👍

I've been thinking about buying that. I never had the chance to play Doom 3 and I love retro games and would love to revisit Doom 1 and 2. All in all, a good package if you don't already have the games lying around.

When it comes to casual games, packaging is everything. There have been arguably better retail artillery-style games (cough... Worms... cough), but AB has just enough depth to feel challenging, and just enough variety for the casual audience.

I play it myself. Couldn't imagine spending so much money for the repackaged product, though.

D3 is a great game with great atmosphere, sweaty armpits guaranteed. :D

On topic: I love AB, and have all the games on iOS including Bad Piggies, but I wouldn't spend another 30 pounds to play it on my TV screen.

Scorched Earth? Ah, I lost countless hours to that game when I was young..
