HAs anyone noticed the drivers reactions in the video of two plymouth prowlers racing in GT4. They both have no hood, the driver is shown moving the steering correspondingly and also changing gears & it all looks very smooth and fluid, not jaggy gear changes like in NFS were the guyz arm is in one place one minute & then in another the next, very smooth animation effects. Looks like GT4 is setting up the stage for top down racing, if they do have convertibles im more than sure they will have an option as to drive with a top down or up, PD doesnt seem like the company to forget about the differences in performance you can get from having the top down. All i can say is, GT4 is just looking better & better, keep up the good work PD & stick to your policy, if you cant implement it properly, dont bother. Quality over quantity, but in this case we get both!

Anyone know how i can capture frames from the video & post them as pics?

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I hope that this sets the standard so developers realize that the little things do count.

The links are actually working for me for once! Thanks Yazza

I think a program called Virtual Dub can do that. You can go frame by frame and probably save the frame as a picture file. Not 100% sure tho. What about just pausing the vid where you want, press the "Print Screen" key around the top right of your keyboard. Then open Paint, and choose Edit->Paste. A picture of the screen with the paused video should appear. Just crop out the picture of what you want. That usually does it for me.

I would have thought convertibles were slower with the top down due to the aerodynamic drag.
I owned 2 Mazda MX-5s old and new shape whereas the mk1 versions top speed was the same top up or down the mk2 was a good 15mph slower with the top down.

check out the avatar!!!

are there already mirrors of the new videos?!! ti's look like the site is overloaded or something!

Is there anyway to remove the "Gain" stuff from the free download version of DIVX?

(edit)

Nevermind... found it :)

you could use cyberlink PowerDvD to take pix from vids.

I saw that and it looks very real, that would make sense to make animated drivers if there will be animated pit crews.

I wish they would improve the opponent AI instead of making a gear shifting animation.

Besides, I think that animated drivers would be relatively easy to pull off. The only hitch would be integrating it into the game at a smooth 60 fps.

Then again, being able to race against other knuckleheads...we're going to have the most infinitely variable "AI" out there. :)

i use bsplayer to take screenshots...works for me...and it's freeeeee

I know PD is thinking "lets focus on AI and nothing else" I'm sure with the size of PD the AI programer is not the game designer. So that same old comment about improved AI before adding anything means nothing. Maybe if PD had one man doing everything.

 How many years would you want to wait ??? 15??

just to have a little moan here...

why do we need the game to run at 60fps or 50fps or even 40fps?

When you go to the cinema the pictures run at only 24 fps, videos on the computer run at 30fps to compensate for monitor refresh rates and such, why does it need to be any higher than this??

When benchmarking my machine I see no visible difference between 35fps and 135fps, why not pack as much in as you can and just stay above the minimum, which is what I'm sure PD is doing, remember large "constant fps" figures usually mean wasted potential (Project Gotham anyone?)
