Hi, just replaced my old 60gb with a super slim and I swear, I have never noticed this before but, I'm getting 2 horizontal lines across the middle of my tv screen. It seems to get worse when I change direction or inclination.

I don't think this was an issue with my old console? Anybody how to remedy this?

Thanks!

PS: Started from scratch and found that I had a nice little GT86 to smash it up in. Easy mode or what!

My friend had this with his slim line. If it does the same thing on other games ring Sony. His was doing it on cod and gt5. Sony replaced his straight away.

It sounds like screen tear. Are they black, or more like a section of the screen is shifted? Does it go away or is it a constant problem ?

I might be able to offer help - if you are using an HDMI cable connected to your TV, the issue is either in the cable itself or the TV.

I had an issue (and still do) where in the left 1/3 of the screen, a line about a half-inch wide would flicker in and out. (Meaning the pixels would flicker, like it was a scratched videotape, but with no blackness like those used to get from this issue.)

This line didn't show up after I replaced the original HDMI cable with a new one, until about a month ago. Now, it doesn't just affect the PS3, it affects EVERYTHING.

I'm using an Insignia 32-inch flatscreen, and we're (my family and I) 95% sure it's the TV itself causing the issue, since it now shows up when watching regular DVDs and videotapes. (It's intermittent - it doesn't happen that often, and when I play I usually don't even notice it.)

Try changing the HDMI cable if you are using HDMI, and if not, see if the problem persists on a different TV.

This is why you don't buy cheap TV's like Insignia, Vizio, Phillips... etc. Buy a more expensive TV like a Samsung, Sony, Pioneer, Sharp, or Toshiba. Chances are it will last you much, much longer. You do indeed get what you paid for.

I have a 42" Samsung that is like 6 years old, and in that time my brother has gone through 3 Vizio TV's, in the end paying more than I paid for my one Samsung TV.

not saying that overall i disagree with you, but there are many Insignia Tv's that are actually rebranded Samsungs, LG etc, many times the current Insignia is the same as the last generation of Big name brands.

on the other hand, some insignia/dynex are made by Funai, and other lower quality tv makers, so it can be hit or miss really.
