Its still up for discussion because of this:

2007 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Zetec 5-Door: £17,210

Seriously... I need to make a trip to the UK just to touch it...

Are American cars so bad that you all have to travel a few thousand miles just to grope the switchgear of our Euro Repmobiles? Oh dear. It's worse than I'd thought.

But really, don't spend your cash on brand new medium spec family cars. Nobody but the dealer will respect you. Go find a used M5 or S8 or whatever. You'll be much happier.

And don't buy an Avensis unless you're the kind of person who can't sleep at night for fear that something might happen to your receipts for the financial year. Or a 9-5 unless your name is Terry and you're the financial advisor for a company that makes dado rails.

Our cars aren't horrible (they're getting better. Our Vectra is top-notch!), but they certainly aren't as good as the Mondeo in the case of the Fusion. I just want to see one in person. They just look so damn good!

...And on a personal note, I'd rather buy a brand-new family car in some cases over a high-spec used model for a few important reasons: 1) warranty 2) quality 3) warranty 4) replacement part costs 5) future problems 6) warranty.

Yes, I'd love to have a used M3 or S6, but when it comes to actually paying the $20K+ for the car, I'd rather buy a nice $20K sedan or hatchback.
