I turned on my game and my screen frozed up, then my data disappeard. I lost it all, over 500 cars, 100% gear and jeff gears, over 20 collected bdays, level, muscle tickets, all paints and mattes, all gold trophys, top tranny tuned drag cars that included a zr1, z06, acr, gt no stripe, veyron, evo, sti, enzo. This stuff hurts. So I wont even ask for a hand out because what I accomplished is worth more then a few cars. Just saying that I enjoyed playing gt5 and trading with u guys. I will not start over and iam retiring myself from the game. I cant even look at the game disc after losing everything. To the vets and noobs.....its the best racing game.....enjoy

Feel sorry for you man ... this is the worst case scenario for a GT5 diehard!
It sounds to me like a horror movie.

Real life is good but gt5 is where I get away for a while. After a hard days work, nothing like coming home relaxing to some gt5 tranny tuning, trading, or drag racing my freinds. Been a gt fan since day one. Still have the ps1 double disc.

This is just terrible they need to sort this out, this is a very serious problem a lot of players have been affected and all that is haapening is gt5 is loosing top players. Instead of focusing on stupid stuff they need to sort out there main weakness and by the way sorry mate

Sorry for the lose but let this be a lesson to everyone. Back up your data often!
 
Even though I feel sorry, I cannot stress how important it is to have a backup.

I have a second PSN account and yesterday decided to install GT5 on that one for duping reasons :)
However, decided to have a go at the game itself and starting from scratch, in 20 minutes, I was already on Level 21, with 2 millions in my account, without doing any licenses.
So come on man, if you're a trully GT fan... you know you want it and you know it can be done again!

I did this too for paint reasons.:)
 
I've restart GT5 3 times because of different accounts always had a back-up DIE HARD FAN!
 
I use one of these

and it's very hard to even destroy the USB itself let alone losing any data when you save it...which everyone by now should know/do when it comes to this game and guess what?
You're not the 1st,the 10th or the 100th person that got all wiped out but...unfortunately you won't be the last either as things like that are here on the forum on a weekly basis...10% lack of knowledge & 90% procrastination.
I feel sorry only for the 10% if i'm blatantly honest.

I feel no pain for you for a few reasons:
1. You have a bad reputation
2. You didn't back up
3. I can barely read your post
 
I got the guy in the shop to turn my old PS3 HDD into a backup for me.

To the couple of guys kicking me when im down....skier and others, it still doesent change the fact that I have yet to screw anyone out of a trade. I had a couple late trades but I still sent all the time. I dont need a good rep on gtp. My online rep, and drag tuning, and drag winning rep was good enough. Not to mention a lvl 40 competitor. Continue to kick a down gt member.
