OK so I just joined a room online which was nearly full and many different nationalities, I managed to join fine but as soon as it came off the loading bar it put me at the race screen ( with the Start, Free Run, Chat and Exit buttons and only the chat button was working, this seemed to be the case for the rest of the people in the lounge as well as one said that it was frozen via the chat function. The host then managed to get back out, choose a car and go on track after the exit button had become available, many of the others in the room managed to do this as well but I was just left there spamming the exit button. The host then voted for a track change and I was able to vote. The track was changed from SSR7 to Indy Superspeedway. The track loaded fine but I still couldn't get out. I finally just quit the game as thankfully the XMB was still working.

Anyone know what is going on.

I used to have that happen a lot just after the launch, haven't had it for ages so its probably a connection problem not a game fault that is new.

Probably lag?
No not lag we weren't even racing

Could be as my connection is only 5.80 mbts but this has never happened to me before and I've been racing online for a few months now.

No not lag we weren't even racing Who says you can't lag out outside of a race? Happens to me all the time, and server boots too. I'm nat 3 because i've only got a 1.5Mb download top speed, so i get weird stuff like this happening all the time. I could be just sitting there in someones lounge(the first screen, where you can choose to enter the track or watch) not doing anything or chatting even and get booted.

That could also be from a clogged up server in your area. The internet is far from perfect. What will help all of it is to have the room host have a good solid connection with at least 3 bars(as seen in the online world screen to the right side of each room). Also what I've found to help inside a race room is if the host turns off visual damage. That's extra data for the server to send and can slow things down, especially if there's in excess of 8 people in the room.

Could have been then, I didn't know that you could lag outside of a race. The room host was from France but there were a couple of Australians in the room to probably creating the lag. Thanks for your help.
