I have a GTP and a 2002 firebird v6 3.8 L... i was wondering
if someone has a site where i could buy the turbo kit for the firebird... i would like to put the same turbo on the firebird as i have on the gtp,,, let me kno what u guys think or what ever thanks!

I thought the GTP was blown, not turbo.

It might be easier and cheaper to just sell the Firebird and buy a T/A. You'll find no shortage of cheap NA power with an LS1 or LT1.

Okay now answer my question(pretty please?): My turbo makes a really weird/bad sound at 5-7000 rpm. Why does it do this, and is it dangerous? If so, what should I do about it?

That depends entirely on what kind of sound its making...if it sounds like sand being poured through a coffee can leave your car at home and stay 10-100 feet away/in the car when u rev...if its a hissing sound then that could be your blow-off valve, if you have one. This could go on forever; we need specifics.

I searched for a question mark, but could not find one.

I'd love to answer your question, but I just don't know what the question is. Or what ever thanks!

First off the GTP is a supercharged motor. So therefore you aren't getting a turbo kit off of it.

Second with the amount of money you are going to spend on this, it would be cheaper to sell the car and buy a LS1 T/A. It would make more sense.

But if you really really want to go that route I suggest you check out http://www.thunderracing.com/

by GTP do you mean '96-'02 (err what ever the years are) pontiac gran prix GTP
if so it is in fact supercharged, and nice i got the 2001 GT, and anyday now a
fedex, UPS, or DHL guy will be knocking on my door with a eaton supercharger for it, should be good for 260+HP, and im looking for a smaller pulley for even more boost.

The GTP has a supercharger not a turbo as stated before. You can probably buy almost everything you need to supercharge the Firebird through GM. The supercharger used on the GTP is an Eaton M90 supercharger if that helps at all. I will say though, that it would be a better idea to just swap motors or buy another GM supercharged 3.8L. I recommend that because the one in the Firebird doesn't have forged internals, so it can only safely handle maybe 6-8 psi of boost. That blower on the stock pulley makes at least 15 psi on the GTP, which would eventually destroy the Firebird's motor if kept that high. The GTP has forged internals, so it can handle upwards of 20 psi. Just my $0.02.

The cheaper route in the end is to modify the Firebird's 3.8L without the supercharger. They have a pretty damn big aftermarket if you look hard enough, and you can go faster for the same price as it would cost to supercharge it and it'd be naturally aspirated.

I met a guy at a meet last spring and he had a Chevy 3.4L V6 Camaro that ran high 13 second 1/4 mile passes all naturally aspirated. That's as fast as lightly modded 5.7L LT1s.

great now you got me worried! :scared: will i have any problems with the eaton on my gran prix, i got the 3.8L series 2

It all depends on the top end. I think, think the already-supercharged model has a much stronger top end. Talk to a buddy of yours who knows GM cars or a guy at a dealer. They should know. Tip: You're probably better off just boring it out and doing stuff like new pistons, I think. Kinda like GT's NA tuning. You'll keep the response, have less stuff to break, and get equal horse power.
