Back in December when I first got my DFGT, the clamp on the left hand side snapped off within a few weeks.

I then lasted the next 10 months using only one clamp. This was tough as it kept sliding off every once in a while and I had to make sure the other side was super tight. Well the other side has just snapped off, leaving me with no clamps whatsoever and no way to fix it to my desk.

I tried gluing them back on but to no avail. It just wasn't strong enough to hold with the pressure.

Does anyone have an advice about what I can do with the wheel. I can not permanently fix it to the desk as I am living in college accomodation and this wont be my room forever. I have thought about velcro but that wont hold it when there is any sort of downward pressure.

Is there any sort of warranty for these things or am I screwed?

You're probably better asking here > https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=163 but as it's within a year of purchase I would contact the retailer and ask for a replacement although they may say you need to go to Logitech direct. I had my DFGT replaced not long after I got it and they were great.

Cheers man, I got it at Argos but don't have a receipt. It's a few months under a year since purchase. Hopefully I can get something sorted with Logitech themselves

Did you buy it cash or with a card? If it's on a credit card or bank statement that is proof of purchase.

Jazz is right. gorilla glue the bottom flat part to a piece of mdf thats about a foot wider than the wheel. Once its dry just clamp it onto your table with clamps...no damage...removable.

Excellent idea. cheers for that. If Logitech can't help me thats what I'll be doing

Unless you guys got faulty products you must have been bloody ruff on those wheels!!! I've been using my DFGT for bloody ages and never had this problem the clamps are very sturdy. Be gentle they are only plastic :p

Yeah ! so stop using wrenches to tighten them down !!
1st id try Logitech then if they can't help maybe give argos customer service a call or e-mail you never know they may be able to trace the transaction.
And if all that fails I would like everyone else has said epoxy it to a board and use diy ratchet clamps if you used the small clamps you could epoxy them to the board as well.

They have gotten back to me and it looks like I'm getting a full replacement. This is very awesome news for me as I thought I was going to have to spend a load of christmas money on a new one.

Big thumbs up to Logitech for being so helpful!

As for being rough, I mean it seems like a design flaw if you ask me. I'm not the only one it's happened to. It just appears that over time a lot of stress is put on the plastic and it eventually gives in. All they need is a stronger material or better design and this wouldn't be happening.

I have a thicker desk it clamps to and I have to tighten it hard and it will still slide off since its slick on top. I have a small kitchen table it clamps to thats not as thick and it will not slide off when tight...and then I built my sim rig and used a pine sheet and it I dont even have to tighten with force, just snug and it wont move...its all based on the material and thickness youre tightening too. My current set up will never break since its so low pressure, the wheel will probably give out long before that.

Good luck with your new one.

I would honestly just hardmount the wheel to a slab of wood and then just clamp that would to the table. That way you can remove the wheel when you want to use it on a different stand.

Snapped mine in the same place. I got metal replacements made because Logitech wont send or sell u any, which is ridiculous...They gave me the option of buying a new wheel....lol I got the metal ones and they are FANTASTIC. Email me at DFGTCLAMPS@ gmail if interested.
