At 550PP and 600PP, the NSX-R is the best car to go to as far as I know (Excluding race cars)
Is there any car better than the NSX-R at this range? Concept and tuned cars are good but not race cars.
Thanks :)

I would say

  • ZZII
  • C8 Laviolette
  • Light Car Rocket
  • Ferrari 458

Probably the ZZII. It has roughly the same power as the NSX-R, but also has the advantage of 4WD, and also weighs less stock.

Other than that, the 458, the LCC Rocket and the LFA are good choices too.

Haven't touched my ZZII in ages. Might try that :)
I've heard that the C8 is fast (And raced with them) but I didn't know it was on par with the NSX
LCC is as fast as heck in corners, that's for sure
The 458 Italia... That's rather an unexpected car to hear in this thread. I'll also give it a go :)

458 Italia

It really punches above its weight. Has a good amount of horsepower, and has stupid amounts of grip in the corners.

McLaren MP4 12C
KTM X-Bow

Completely forgot about these two. These are also excellent choices; the 12C can also potentially race competitively at 650PP if you desired.

I remember the MP4 just not being my style. I always feel it's slow even though I'm aware that I'm going bloody fast. Might try it again, but I'm sure I won't use it often
I completely forgot that the XBow exists XD

I tried the MP4, Italia and C8
If I were to order them on how fast they are in my opinion, I'd say the C8, MP4 then the Italia. (Slowest to fastest)
However, I just feel that their lack of downforce makes them slower than the NSX in medium to high speed corners.

The 458 has downforce. Quite a lot. End of the day all it boils down to is lap times and consistency. I'm fastest with the MP4-12C.

I can attest to the C8 Lav, because it has impressive power/weight ratio for such a low PP rating. Only thing to note is that the handling on that car should be tuned extensively, since it understeers a lot.

I guess you're right. It does have quite some downforce, but I'm comparing it to the NSX (350/650 df if I'm correct) that's why I stated "the lack of downforce"
Would like to see a C8 Laviolette setup.
Another car that can compete with NSX is R390 GT1 Road Car.

^The tune I used for the C8 :)
Yeah it's on the same level with the NSX on the corners. I'm not sure if this is just me or I think it lacks acceleration despite it's huge horsepower
My R390 has about the same top speed as my NSX but it takes ages to reach that top speed

I have to agree with its astonishing power-to-weight, but it's 52/48 weight distribution despite it's MR configuration is its Achilles' heel.

On Midfield at 550PP for example my Ferrari 288 GTO, Mazda RX500 and Lamborghini Miura destroy the Honda NSX.

On 600PP my cars would be the VW W12 Nardó or the Nissan R390 Road going car.

The RX500 is a real contender against the NSX, but like the Italia, for me the 288 GTO and Miura were unexpected cars from the list. I guess I have a very small garage
I've been wanting the Nardó for some time now... Going to try it as soon as I get my hands on it :)

I have been wondering the same thing for quite some time.
The recent R5 seasonal I tested the 458, Zonda, McLaren and R8's, all with various/good tunes, at the end of the straight the NSX was about 10mph slower, it was slower across the start finish line but absolutely murdered the rest through the turns and a full 2 seconds per lap quicker.
I've seen the ZZII topple the Honda a few times but they has rear wings fitted.
I think downforce is its trump card.

Yeah the NSX's downforce is already comparable to that of a race car

I think testament to how fast overall the MP4-12C is is if you look at what was needed to balance the supercars in the Quick Match is that iirc the 12C has 200kg ballast + power limiter, the lowest PP there by quite a margin. Modern engineering!! o.o

I know the MP4 is fast, but then again for some reason it just doesn't "click" to me and my driving style so for me it's fast but just doesn't suit me

Yea some of the really fast cars in GT6 are like that for me...numb I think is the closest to the word I'm looking for!

Another competitive car at 550pp is the Shelby Series 1, tuned on racing soft with rigidity improvement and a rear wing feels like a racecar despite not having full downforce, because it's light and you have some room to play with ballast in order to remove understeer under lateral load. Lift off oversteer works with this car.

A similar car but more difficoult to tune is the Ollium Motors Spirra Prototype.

Last but not least, Amuse S2000 GT1 plenty of downforce and still road legal somehow. Basically a full racecar on sport tyres.

@600pp if you want to drive premium cars I would reccomend giving Ferrari FXX a try. It really is as fast as it looks. Maybe will not beat the fastest drivers using an NSX LM Radcar but can put some decent competition at the very least.
Staying at 600pp McLaren F1 is another "go to" machine.

For wathever car you are going to use I strongly suggest 1 tune for Sport Soft tyres and one for Racing Soft so you have some flexibility in online lobbies.

i think the mazda rx500 kills the competition at 550pp but its slow aceleration and extreme feather weight makes it vunerable against dirty players

I have raced a couple of times with a Series One, gonna have to say that my normal NSX Type R blows it out of the competition, let alone the NSX-R
I'll still give it a try :)
Also the Spirra
I have the Amuse S2000 GT1 but it seems that it has a bit too much understeer to have a proper match with the NSX-R
But it can just be me haha
The FXX feels similar to the Amuse but I have it tuned at 650PP so maybe detuning it will give it a bit more balance
The F1! How could I forget that racecar beating monster?! Good thing I already have one at 650PP hehehehe I can just imagine it side-by-side with the NSX-R at 600PP

I never really considered that option; I thought that having two different tunes for different tyres will completely change the behavour of the car. Might try it out though :)

I think the NSX-R is on par albeit with better acceleration. I'm not really interested in dirty players but if I had to race with them I would choose a stable 4WD car like the Skyline so while I'm not the fastest I have the widest range of dirty tricks because of the stability of a 4WD car :)

Thanks for all your suggestions! I haven't tried them all yet (I haz no munny and tym) but I'll try as many as I can :)
