I just found this on another forum and thought id post it. roughly 120 pure bred German Shepherds were rescued from a puppy mill in Illinois and are in need of adoption and supplies.-

This is Beth Riddle writing regarding a very serious atrocity that has occurred in our state and in our little
German Shepherd community. A mentally ill woman was served a warrant on Dec 16th and Dec 17th regarding the
removal of animals from her property. The first wave consisted of about 90 dogs and over 70 of them were
purebred GSD's. Last night at 11pm I received a phone call from my colleague that had just finished cataloging
the final pull from the womans house. 160 young GSD's , nursing mothers, pups, and just a small handful were
other breeds. The GSD community is shocked. I am crying and shaking as I write you, because we worked so hard
yesterday to pull just the first 22 out of the shelter and get them into rescue. Then as we were going to bed
feeling pretty good, I received this phone call. The holidays make finding kennel space impossible. We are
begging, we never beg, but we are on our knees to former adopters, contributors, anyone who loves German
Shepherds to please help this huge rescue effort. The shelter cannot coordinate the rescues, so it is a team
effort consists of Northern IL GSD Rescue, their founder and President is logging and cataloging the dogs,
Chicagoland GSD Rescue is digging up a couple spaces and on the phone, Central Illinois GSD Rescue is
contacting nationally and coordinating transport, foster care, and will also be pulling some of these angels.
They are everywhere at the shelter. They are in cages, kennels, tied to the walls, and though they were eating
dirt, had no food, are close to starvation, they just look at us and wag their tails. It is absolutely killing
us to see this. We could use money for medical care, we could use puppy canned food and puppy dry food, puppy
pan to feed them in, crates, kennels and most of all space! Anyone with a farm that could serve as a temporary
M*A*S*H unit, or shelter. I stress there is no where to go with these kids. Transporters for national
distribution. I can't even think. IF you want to help, please call at 217-337-5832 or 217-377-7135 and we'll
figure something out. Thank you for your consideration.

I plan on adopting at least one of these dogs and I hope others will too.

I love dogs and if I could I would adopt one too. However I can't and German Shepards and I don't mix.

I like dog's. Especially mine, I have a Blue heeler X fox terrier with 3 leg's and a red heeler.

I just spoke with Linda, the Director at the Chicago Ridge Animal Welfare
League. This is a huge facility - 600 "cages". They did get our crates
yesterday. She told me that yes, PLEASE send more crates. The Crestwood
PetSmart helped us yesterday - Ebony, the manager, took our credit card
numbers over the phone and arranged for the crates to get to the shelter,
they are approximately 25 minutes away. They could do the same with food and
other supplies. Their number is (708)396-2900.
They also DESPERATELY need $$$... Donations can be made via PayPal at
http://www.gsdhaven.org or contact donations@animalwelfareleague.com - in
both cases specify that you are donating to this particular rescue effort.
Money will help cover the expense of having 29 dogs on IV's going through
1000ml per day of fluids each - needles, bags, tubing, etc are needed. They
still have 120 dogs total, which are impounded until Tuesday, and can then
go ONLY to licensed foster homes in Illinois. All have whips, hooks, rounds,
and tapes. These dogs were found at an individual's home, outside, in the
woods surrounding her home, without shelter. They were in holes. Eating
dirt. Some *****es with whelps. 14 were found dead, and were so frozen that
when pulled out, tails stayed. She said that they are not in good shape at
all. She said it was truly a nightmare. They also need food - canned and
dry, and vitamins. Again, the Crestwood PetSmart could be a help with that.
I am going to call Pfizer on Monday and see if they have any veterinary
samples that are close to expiration - Panacur, antibiotics, etc, that could
be moved to them.
Linda was extremely grateful for all the help. It sounds like unfortunately,
she has been through this too many times, having busted 4 or 5 large mills
in the last year or so. I don't know how she does it. I would be in prison
for murder.
I hope that Beth Riddle of GSD Haven was able to get some relief and rest
once volunteers got there. God Bless them all.

A little update that I missed. They're accepting donations, I'm sure any amount would be appreciated.

I wish that I could help but I don't really like dogs or cats. I prefer weasels (I haven't found any at any pet store).
