I currently use itunes, but it installs components all over the show.
So when my notebook HDD crashed, instead of me thinking everything was safe and sound on my external HDD (where I thought everything was installed) I in fact lost my entire play history because Quicktime was installed on the now dead HDD, not my external one. Itunes refused to work and I had to re-install. But it doesnt give the option to specify where to install all components, so it will be the same story if the notebook plays up.
The problem with winamp is that some songs are ripped for itunes, so their filename is, e.g., FDLG.mp3. They show up in itunes with song names etc, but in winamp there is no info.
So I need a media player that plays all formats and will hopefully have the filename-to-file info recognition of itunes.
