Hey guys! Since I joined these forums I noticed there are alot of drifters here :) Much respect to you all. I'm pretty new here and I fancy myself to be a pretty good grip driver.(I love FF's) So if you all don't mind I want to get to know who are the good grip drivers here and share some techniques. :)

go check out the online racing forums, particularily the Weekly Race Series stuff. thats where the bulk of the grippers like to compare the size of their egos, and beat their chests :D

calm down guys, only joking :)

(ironic that two self-proclaimed drifters would be the first ones to reply to this)

There are a considerable amount of grip racers around here. If you really want to share your advice, take a look at the past few races, give it some practice and see where you stand. We've got a good group of fast guys and gals around here and they just might suprise you.

Racing series for those who don't want to beat their chest or compare the size of their egos.

Racing series for those who want to compare ego sizes and beat their chest.

The WRS is in week 101 (which ends at midnight tonight).
Week 102 will start up right after 101 ends.
(that's 102 weeks of weekly races with no breaks in the action)

Have fun making your pick if you decide to get involved in either... I would go with the WRS personally but I bet you saw that one coming. ;)
 
Well, thanks for giving Tank and I some much needed attention there Kent ;)

I'm gonna promote the ISCC, because I'm partly responsible for it.

The WRS is a good place as well, though not quite as much freedom in what you get to race with, and more RWD cars.

ISCC is setup for those who prefer certain cars, makes, drivetrains and the likes. Its new, so not nearly as big as the WRS, but the more people, the merrier :)

and yes, the idea is just as Azuremen says, its meant to offer a fun and flexible environment. It puts slightly more emphasis on the tuning aspect of the game, alongside the driving. From our testing so far the formula seems to be pretty even for all cars.

im a fan of the WRS (been in it for over a year now though i havent raced every week.) The ISCC sounds very good and i will most likely be apart of that too. You should check these out and decide what to do, however you can always do both :).
 
i prefer grip racing for all my cars but my cobra is in a permanent 4 wheel drift so I have to momentarily drift to get the snake to corner.
 
i'm a gripper, i just learned how to drift to be honest with you.
 
I'm a grip driver. Though I do experiment with a little drift, too. The best technique for me is a combination of grip and drift. There are just some corners that require a light drift to get a good line. For the most part, though, I grip. It's way easier for people who aren't good with the back end sliding out. I'm not too much for most FF cars, save the Puegeot 206, Mitsubushi FTO, and Celica SS-II.

I think the traditional "drift" cars (240 SX, RX-7 FD3S and FC3S, Silvia K's 2000cc, Sprinter Trueno AE86, etc.) make great grip caars under the right tuning and tracks. Any other grip drivers agree? Maybe I'm just a bit of a nut...
 
acutally, some of the drift setups you find out there are great grip setups, even on sim tires. with T5s they're weapons. i have no idea how people drift them :P
 
i grip most, grip is fast and fun
drift is fun and looks cool, good for replay saves...
