any problems with a gameshark?

have any of you experienced problems with a game shark messing up your ps2? i just read a review by someone that was very dissatisfied and claimed that it messed up his system causing it to lock up and retaining codes although they were not saved. if it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, let me know that too cause i'm looking at getting one

Yes, there are documented problems (aka Bugs) with the bameshark and the codes. WIld AI, useless replay, invisible AI, owners developing an inability to play the game.

However, if it will help you enjoy the game more, pick one up.

If you enjoy the thought of having to constantly FLASH your Dongle thusly losin any games saves then by all means get the AR/GS device...
No cheat device can/will damage an console only morons that operate them do more harm then good... The vents must be kept clean... Dont put an dirty disc in the tray period. Or you'll be sending the console back sooner for an replacement laser before its normal life... Maintance is the key to the life of your unit, do not use any cleaner on the laser as well... Buyer beware
