Hello!

The Full Lap on AMG Academy Intermediate is driving me crazy:banghead: I mean, I keep getting a time of 7:06:xxx and I can't find out what I'm doing wrong. Sure, I accidentally drove out of the track a few times, but I don't think It'll make a large difference. I turned off TCS but I don't think it helped very well. I also have ABS set to 1 but there's no way I'm turning that off, because my driving style doesn't comprehend towards it. I also was driving using a DS3.

Does anybody have tips to conquer the "hollow" Nordschleife?

Hmm i can't remember if you can or not but try using racing line if you can't see where you're losing time?

Also it's upto the aids you use?
I personally use no aids ever when driving and manual shifting and its by far the quickest way around a track if you are comfortable with no TCS! And the manual shifting allows you to rev that bit higher giving you higher revs and more power into the next gear. i find the automatic shifter in GT5 is far too early in most cars!ABS is fine to have at 1 it doesnt make a huge difference in anyway.

as i said though try using driving line if possible! i can't honestly remember!

if not then go do some test laps with the car if you can without being timed and use driving line for a good few laps. get used to braking zones etc and see how you get on!

So you are about a second or two from gold right? First thing I remember, always pass on the left in this event. It says in the description slow cars stay to the right and they for the most part do. It saved me a lot of time when I stopped trying to pass on the right. Going off track will cost you a lot of time, it affects your speed for that corner but also the following straight and entry to the next corner. Good luck.

I did this one with a DS3. I heard somewhere that using the horn and flashing your lights will let AI know you're there. I used the horn when this AI was going to pass another, and he stopped the overtake. I guess it works.

Hello!

There you go!.. half a sec here and there and you'll be a couple secs off from the whole lap before you know it.. don't forget your errors accumulate and carryover.

That I was wondering, too. I got the 7:05:318 time probably because I hit the black Mercedes at the end of the Carrousel.

You should have passed those two mercedes way BEFORE the karrousel, unless we are talking about the wrong cars.. I usually pass them at the right bend before it =) keep driving!

I passed the Red and White ones at the part after the straight and the black one in which was at the end of the Carrousel in also which I hit accidentally. By the way, I got frustrated because I was so close on the lap time and I don't think I can ever do the same thing again, so I'm doing it again some other time..

i would just keep at it. the Ring is the toughest driving course in the world, even the most experienced drivers probably take the wrong line occasionally. get to know the ring and all the lines which you should take and get the corner entry speeds dialed and braking points etc.

I need some help on the section at the south-east and the Aremburg at the north-west, so I guess I need to go through the venues again.

btw do the cars show up in diff random colour everytime you load the race? I know which one you are talking abt now... that lap was actually good i think.. did you screw up the end?

Make sure you are fully accelerating into the Dottinger straight at 6:10 LATEST, or else just restart =)

I had my finger on the accelerator as long as the Dottinger, then I braked at the corners before entering to the finish line. I didn't went off once during the process. But I did touched the grass a bit because of nervousness and last-second reflex.

How are you in the last section after the straight? turn in early while still fully accelerating under the tunnel which should throw you wide but not off. then after the you should only stop accelerating into the right and left before slowing right down in the left right chicane which takes you past the pit entrance!

The ring should just come naturally to you though! if you keep practicing and not losing the plot then you should get it.. i can rattle the ring with my eyes closed nearly lol.. i can do it it in the near enough pitch black with a nascar :P its just one of those things that will come to you if you practice enough :P

He should try to beat the Sector Challenges by 2 or 3 secs.If he can do this , he will beat the Gold on the Full Lap ;)

My time: 6:58.995 with DS3

It's nothing to do with whether he can beat the sectors. It's all about composure and keeping a lap together!

Does anybody know the difference between this car and the normal SLS, it looks different (big ass wing) and it seems to me like it is much faster with better handling. As for the challenge, it seems the key is just to drive carefully, mistakes cost more time than they are worth and if you're pushing hard when you're passing other cars, mistakes will happen.

I pulled it off first try by basically cruising around the track, instead of pushing hard.

If you're really sick of it I've heard of shortcuts, but I didn't use them. You can cut the S behind the first 300SL and the big left hander after the flat out part of the second section right behind the A series (I think that's what it was, it's the small car)

I know everyone else is talking about staying on track, but for the tighter corners, I usually cut it a bit to have to inside wheels hop over the curbs. Often times the blinking red light that tells you what gear to be in is way too slow and you can enter a corner a full gear above what it says. Be sure to use the other cars to draft, and don't ever hit them.

Use the entire track and be sure to start a corner wide, hug the apex, then accelerate out as you see the exit. Practice makes perfect.

OP is pretty close anyways @ 7.05.3xx~ so really no reason for him to start cheating now! He's probably grinding hard now I am pretty sure he'll beat it within the next few hours

Once you get close to doing it, it's just a question of time before you get past that barrier. Don't be concerned about never being able to do it again -- you're getting better at it, and you'll knock that barrier down soon if you stick with it.

It's something I tell the guys I race slot cars with, if you can turn in a fast lap without crashing once, then you can do it a second time. If you can do it twice, then you can do it ten times (and so on). So once you show that you can perform well in a lap at the 'Ring, it's just a qestion of time before you can do two good laps in a row, or ten good laps in a row or a hundred good laps in a row.

You can and will do it! 👍

These cars do NOT want to be driven "off throttle" in ANY corner. Of course, watch your corner entry speed. Some demand aggressive cornering. Grass cutting actually will LOSE time, in my opinion. Easy to make mistakes in this powerful car.

i've been struggling with this one aswell, golded the sector bits after a couple tries each and thought yeah i can do the full lap and cant get near the gold time, keep on trying i guess.

7:06:500 last night, with 2 minor mistakes in 2nd half, so I'm on my way there

Anyone get this under 7 minutes?

I find TCS @ 1 and ABS @2 to help quite a bit. for some reason there is no horn to use, and I don't know how to flash lights on the G25.

I did four 7.05.xxx's tonight and one was a 7.05.011 which is just cruel and unusual.

Gold finally 7.04.486 ... that is the most satisfying thing I've done in the game so far. Was up on my best time by 3 seconds near the end and messed up but it was enough to hold. Wow that was fun.

Used DFGT, ABS 1 and all other aids off.

are you suggesting lights/horn will make the AI drivers move over. I'll be doing the biggest face palm ever if this turns out to be true!
