Any way to turn down mic volume in rooms?

Is there a way to turn down mic volume when you enter a lobby?
I know I can disable the mic's if I host a room but I don't want to hear, or have my family hear all the crap, cussing, dogs barking, kids crying, fighting, etc.

I would like to hear the game sounds just not the mic's during a race.

There might be a setting I'm not aware of but the only thing i can think of is if you have a mic turn yours on so only you can hear it and not the rest of you family. I would also like to know if there is a way to adjust the chat volume through your tv as well.

simple, just join rooms with voice chats disabled.
i dont have a mic and would much like to have a search option for no mics rather than only an search option for skid recovery.

and besides, in real racing, drivers dont talk to each other during the race.
 
You can scroll up to the list of racers in the room; click on them and you can mute their audio.

Or

I bought a bluetooth so only I hear the chat and you can always take the bluetooth off if you don't want to hear their chat, but you do want to hear the game sounds!
