As I am about to take the plunge and get all HD I was wondering if anyone else had a DLP tv particularly in the US as they've been around a while longer than in the UK.
Basically I'd like to hear peoples opinions of these sets and the technology and any concerns people may have.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. 👍

I'm in Australia and I have an LG 62" DLP TV. It's bloody awesome, and I have no complaints about it. The only thing wrong is once you get used to it, you just find yourself squinting and complaining about lack of widescreen on other TVs.

The HDTV signal is great, and I cannot tell the difference between a DLP and non DLP digital TV (due to myself not having a non DLP digital capable TV), but the colours are just spectacular. I'd definitely recommend one. 👍

Thanks for that!
I have a Samsung 46" DLP on the way. Will be using it for DVD and games mainly. No HD TV broadcasts in the UK yet...on cable, aerial or satellite. But Sky Satellite will next year. Doubt I'll have it as it'll cost a bomb.
What about bulb life? How many hours would you expect from your DLP's bulb?

I believe it's 10,000 hours...should last several years (long enough for the next new standard to come out I guess).

If you watched the TV for 5 hours a day it would last for over 5 years...? No one leaves their TV on 24/7.

Err...I have done in the past.  But that was playing games etc. I have no intention of doing that with my DLP. 10 hrs max every day. Probably lower.
Still a bulbs only £200 so 2 to 3 years is okay...I guess!

 My fault...it was late and I didn't realize what I had said.

Finally got my DLP after waiting 5 weeks!
GT4 in 1080i looks soooo good! Can't wait for the next generation of consoles for 720p and 1080i gaming!
👍
