Anybody remember Wingcommander?

My absolute favorite games from my youth were Wingcommander 3-5. An innovative game with immersive worldbuidling, fun gameplay and it had an amazing cast with Mark Hamill, John rhys Davies, Malcolm McDowell, Thomas Wilson. The game featured amazing acting, ship designs, beautifull 3D Graphics for the time and FMV sections and excellent animatronics for the Killrathi. I loved every bit of those games and the epic story was worthy of a high budget movie franchise in my opinion. It even had a short running cartoon and a horrible live-action movie, but sadly this Franchise died out.

Anybody out there still remember these games?

Oh yeah, I absolutely loved those! That free Call of Duty space combat game for PSVR was making me wonder how awesome a VR Wing Commander would be.

I bought these on GOG last year, due to nostalgia, but am afraid to install them lest they are worse than I remember...

Loved these as a kid. Pretty much got me started on flight sims as is.

Yep, still have the original 4 discs PSX Wing Commander IV, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance" I remembered it also featured Mark Dacascos.

I played a ton of Wing Commander 3 on the 3DO. Great game.

I wouldn't want to revisit it today, so many of these older titles are best left as fond memories. The framerate, controls and difficulty level compared to most games nowadays would probably be frustrating.
