I custom built my PC to coincide near the release of the original title as well as iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Raceroom, etc. It seemed like the right time to finally jump into it after deciding not to buy into the newest console generation.

Any of you newly to the pc market for Project CARS 2 and other sim racing games?

Actually i did. In September of last year i built a specific gaming PC because my notebook just wasn´t good enough. I did this to play games like AC and Pcars in full glory.

I went with a GTX 1070 and a i5 6600k with DDR4 memory and a SSD. It´s future proof for the next two or three years i guess.

Now this week i spent an obscene amount of money for a CSL Fanatec bundle, also for Pcars and company. It´s a shame it only arrives for me in mid October.

The 60 dollar game is just the start, we like an expensive hobby.

Did the same as crowhop.

With the whole unsupported wheels on PS4 debacle at the time pCARS1 launched I decided to return to my PC sim racing roots and built a rig specifically for pCARS1. SInce then, I have worked on incremental upgrades to get ready for pCARS2. Only thing remaining to do, for now, is to upgrade my GTX950 Amp! to a GTX1060 6GB in November/December time frame.

EDIT: Current Specs as follows:
  • CPU - AMD FX-8370 w/Wraith Cooler
  • MoBo - GB-78LMT-USB3 (Rev 6.0)
  • RAM - ADATA 12GB 1600 DDR3
  • Video - Zotac GTX950 AMP! 2GB DDR5 (soon to be Zotac GTX1060 6GB Mini)
  • OS - Win10 Pro 64bit
  • SSD - Corsair 240GB Force LE (OS only)
  • HDD - Western Digital 1TB (all Apps and Games)
  • Controller - Fanatec CSW v2.5, BMW M3 GT2 and Formula Black rims, CSL Elite LC Pedals, DIY Button Box, G27 shifter as standalone device using Teensy 2.0 as USB adapter
  • Monitors - Samsung UN28H4000AF 28" LED x3, Samsung UN22D5000 24" LED

I upgraded my 37" LED TV to a 55" 4K/HDR OLED TV. :D

A lot of games I'm currently enjoying are on PS4, so I decided to spend my budget on that TV instead of PC upgrades.

Me

Here's my build:

Case: Fractal Design Node 202
Case Fans: 2x Noctua NF-12
Power Supply: Cosair SF600 (600Watts)
Processor: i5-7600K
Processor Fan: Noctua NH-L9i
MotherBoard: Asus Strix Z270i
Memory: Cosair 16GB Vengence LPX
Main Hard Drive: 250GB Samsung 960EVO M.2
Secondary HD: 1TB Hitachi Travelstar (2.5 inch)

Video Card: Zotac GTX 1080 Mini (pending purchase, October), gonna miss launch day :ouch:

Decided to just purchase the PC version rather than XB1, so this build is just for PC2 and maybe try some iRacing or AC

I did upgrade to a new PC for the occasion of pC2's release a few weeks back. i7 7700K / Asus GTX1080 Ti OC / Asus Strix z270h / 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 MHz / Corsair Hydro H80i v2 / SoundBlaster Zx / Samsung 500 GB SSD / Seagate Firecuda 2 GB / Antec GX1200 case / Corsair HX750i PSU.

Should serve me for a while I think :)

I built a new one a few weeks ago, mostly for PC2 but also for FM7. While the one I had would have met the min specs for both I felt an upgrade was in order.

Ryzen 1600, 16gb ddr4, GTX1050TI 4gb, 960 evo M2 ultra ssd, 1TB WD Black HDD
