Anyone else dislike photo travel?

I love taking pictures of my cars but I am starting to hate photo travel mode for the premiums. The lighting in all the locations seems to be crap, with a ton of shadows and dark spots and nasty shading. There are opportunities for nice shots but they seem way more difficult to get as opposed to in-race shots, which more naturally look nice and clean with the right coloration.

Is it just me? Photo travel is getting on my nerves...

I know what you mean. Not being able to move or turn where I want to in some places.

I reckon photomode is a challenge in itself to take good pics.

The only thing I dislike about it is that some of the locations could have been made into tracks...

All that DETAIL and work on streets/buildings/signs/etc and not being able to drive on it is kind of a slap in the face to me.

This ^
or maybe that free roam that was planned?

I wish there were more locations. I find most locations too similar. But the most annoying locations are Redbull Hangar and the ruins. Both of these turn to nightful in a matter of 30 seconds and you have no time to get decent daylight/sunset shots in these locations.

I only dislike it a little bit because it's only for premiums... all cars should have access to it ;)

I don't "dislike" it. Overall, it's a great facet of the game as an amateur photography buff, but I wish there was so much more to it...

a) More Locations:
I still have one location left to unlock, but there's nowhere near enough by way of variety and stuff to offer Photo Travel's full potential. <Oh, and why aren't there any locations over here in North America? There's plenty by way of beauty and wonder over here that would've been a great option...>

b) More Cars:
I'm not necessarily talking about the inability to use Standard cars, I really wish I could bring two (or more) cars to a photo shoot. <My two Corvette RM cars, in their similar blue paint jobs, would look awesome together side-by-side somewhere like San Gimignano.>

c) More Car Adjustment Options:
How 🤬 awesome would it be to snap pictures of your car with something like the hood or doors open, especially something like the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with those gull-wing doors?

d) More Camera Options:
The poor and paltry tweakability of the camera tends to restrict my creative efforts sometimes. <It also forces me to find new ways to do things, so it's not "all" bad, but still frustrating - especially when I can't find the way to do what I want to do...>

Now that I'm getting closer and closer to to the limits of my ability and where I can advance in the game, taking pictures of cars would be something that would really extend the life of the game for me. I don't know if that's the case, given what's available. Just my thoughts.

Peace...

I really love the Red Bull Hangar, but I hate it because the sun is literally out for 30 seconds...

I could not have said it any better, 👍

All good points. It could just be my limited ability with the camera. You can check out my photogallery if you want to see what I've done: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=198715

I feel like the in-race shots are soooo much prettier than the "photo travel" shots, because all the detailed trees and building roofs and whatnot cast annoying shadows on everything, the sun sets, or the colors surrounding the car are too busy. I also feel like there are like a handful of shots you can take of a parked car. Playing with motion blur in races and perspective is a ton of fun and I feel like I lose that with photo travel. It's an interesting concept and I'm glad they included it. I just personally find it to be pretty tough to take good, balanced and original pictures with it.

That was along the lines of what I was about to say

I don't mind them. Some locations I will never touch but I do get some good photo's in photo travel. What I think it needs is a couple more locations which are located near the beach, in the hills and near a canyon. If PD got them then I would be over the moon :)

Actually, outside of the ability to capture motion (particularly "air") and multiple cars, I don't use much in-race photography. There's more variety of locations, but I always seem to go for the same types of shots when I'm taking in-race pictures. I guess I just need to immerse myself more into it and explore the opportunities...

I couldn't have said it better, all my thoughts right on point. 👍

I second that.

Thanks, dudes!
