Anyone else hate this?

I remember the good old days of GT and GT2, when FF's kicked ass. I remember driving my Integra Type R around and just smoking the competition. FF's used to be so snappy and responsive and now they handle like pigs with horrendous understeer. They can be quick but you have to drive really really smooth to get them to accelerate through the corners and not induce too much understeer. I'm well aware of the fact that FF's suffer from understeer but I know that they don't handle that bad. Fortunately I can tune the suspension to help reduce understeer but sometimes the understeering is just attrocious.

I don't necessarily hate it. I am not a car expert but GT3 seems to have the physics down pretty well. But yes, the FF's seem to be regarded as slower, less sporty cars for beginners. I wouldn't mind some more high-power FF race cars with better tuned suspension to help their understeering. It would be a good addition to GT3. BTW the Integra Type R is still an amazing car!;)

In real life and in GT3, understeer is a way of life for FWD cars. In both, you can tune it out to a certain (fairly realistic) extent.

But the fact remains, in both real life and GT3, that 300 hp is about the reasonable upper limit for a good handling, mid size, FWD car.

I agree to some extent.

I think that the front front cars are mis represented...

Shoot look at the "real time integra's" in real life gt racing.

They keep up with all the others and often lead, so yea, the ff can race with some of the others.

However, I dont think that they are too bad on the ff because the fact of the matter is... ff does understeer and the fast the ff car, the greater the understeer.

I would suggest to you that you choose your favorite ff car and try to get some settings from the settings forum.

That might help with your problem about understeer, but only to some extent.

good luck.

besides, I can change understeer to over steer just like that (clicks fingers). so its no problem with me

Yeah but that's because the series implements success balast to penalize the faster cars. The Integras weren't as dominant last year (the Mazda Protege MP3s were).

C'mon a 4cyl stock 140hp car beating a Inline 6 180hp car with RWD?? That's the work of success balast and regulations.

High-powered FF Race Cars - I've got to go for the Mitsubishi FTO Taevon Trampio (sp?) in GT2. That car kicked ARSE on higher powered FR/MR/4WD cars.

Hmm, i would like to see some higher horsepower FF cars. I can't remember any really worthy ones, although the Beetle Cup Car was ok...but nothing superior.

Na, FF cars suck. Have a touring car limit/class where the max is around 250-300hp (Nissan Sentra/Pulsar, Primera, Toyota Corolla, Corona etc.), not 450 odd hp where it is no fun.
Less ff cars and more rwd cars (BMWs, MB, Infinitys and so on)

I Have to Agree with all of you about mainly everything, but the real fact is that FF Cars are just not performance cars really. They are underpowered, and have little torque. I Don;t really bother with any FF Car's. Also due to the fact that there really aren't any good ones. As said earlier, the FF Experience is quite realistic, but the facts still remain, and ill QUOTE HRT_Maloo "FF Cars Suck". My opinion anyway.

Personally I am not a fan of Wrong Wheel Drive cars. Understeer as stated is their weakness. Wrong Wheel Drive cars are good for dragging and such straight line races, but the only other thing they are good for is the end of a turn where they can put the power down properly. The fact is though, only if you are skilled like Peter klienburg, you're not going to be able to use a WWD car as fast as a rear, or AWD car. BTW MugenPower, Welcome to GTPLANET :)

I never said I couldn't tune the understeer out of them. Trust me, I got that down, just ask Solscud007. I am aware of understeering being a huge problem for FF's but this can be compensated for by using left foot braking (which doesn't work well at all in GT3). If you don't think it works, perhaps you'd like to ride in my car the next time I mob it on Willow Springs. I like almost all cars and don't hate on FR's or AWD's.

I really dont mind about it. FWD cars are weak and cant keep up with RWD, much less with an AWD. as someone said, they are NOT intended to be performance cars, and, hell, if you do so, you are a complete jerk. I was into this discussion a while ago with a cousin and I remember he told me it was easier to pull than to push, and I said go ans try to pull your car. now try to push it. its the same thing. handling is another thing, and in this, FWD SUX.

Cano

no torque and half of it lost when the tires spin? please.

well. if FF is the problem with understeering. hybride your integra to a FR or even better a RR. well, i use to use a RR civic drift around tracks, but find it unrealisticlly oversteering.

personally i have full grarage of FR and MR cars. EVO6 is a beautry. i hate to say that i modified it into FR just for doing counter-steering drift.

hey there is nothing wrong with that. it is possible in real life. the Honda school in japan, a student transferd an integra type-R into FR as a project. 4WD cars even better. take out 2 front drive shaft. pow ! you have a FR.

I drive a fairly powerful FWD/AWD Car (85% of the power is at the front,so...). its a Civic with 170hp and it only weighs just under 2,000lbs. Its also got a 5 Spd

Let me just say this. GT3 is exactly perfect in simulating how an FF car handles.

👍

It is indeed.
Understeer is even noticeable on a 1991 Honda Civic sedan going 100km/h around a corner.

Sorry pal but you're the jerk, and you lose less power to the wheels with an FF than you do with FR and AWD moron.

Understeering isn't a problem when you drive FF's like I do.
