* I play around 2 hours a night
* i spend around 30 mins qualifying for GR.3 races to make sure im in top 4.
* race window is 1 hour, i get 1 race over a 2 hour period.
* I qualify within 1st to 4th.
* 1st corner wham....
* rejoin back with the wacky racers (mid to bottom of pack).
* Night over. (I wouldn't care if there was no limit when you can race, i have never experienced this before with any other game, for good reason too)

Most of comments will be
* Join GR4 and below, but i don't like it, its too slow, who enjoys driving round a track and being able to take in the scenery. I wish there was GR.X daily.
* FIA races not possible for me i'm registered as English and i live in Malaysia, all the races are after 1AM. But i am actually English =/
* Lobbies i have tried, but there is either like 5 people in there, or because it doesn't affect your rating kids like to come in smash you up the rear, or keep restarting races due to bad first corners.

Wish could find a group of racers i could hook with that may play in my time zone between 7pm and 11pm (time zone = GMT + 7)

You've told us your problem, and you've also told us why you're not willing or able to find a solution. What are we expected to do here?

Gr4 and N300 may be slower, but you'll get vastly better races, and at least 4 of them in your 2 hour slot. You don't really get a chance to look at scenery either, and if you do, you're doing it wrong.

I qualify 1-4 in grp4 races, and never get punted in to the 1st turn... with rolling starts, it's almost impossible for the car behind to catch up enough by the 1st corner... there's just not enough tow, even at tracks like Nurburgring GP (long straight in to a very tight 1st turn).

Try the grp4 events... they are shorter, so you'll get more races too.

Wouldn't also tuning the transmission for 3-4th gear acceleration also help pull a gap on rolling starts? Or am I thinking this all wrong.

i think it all comes down to picking your spots.
i would not do GT3 races on narrow tracks. period. this may work in iracing where you have everyone driving with wheels and in general more serious sim racers. gt sport is kind of the arcadey version of iracing - which is great, dont get me wrong.
instead of gt3 on narrow tracks drive on tracks like alsace, dragontrail, maggiore or nurburgring. those are wide enough to permit mistakes and not-perfect-driving.
for everything else GT4 and below is perfect.
hope they implement more Grp N500+ cars. we also need sportscar racing.

Fixed settings for daily races, so no option to change gearing.

I’ve done about 25 races, as far as I remember started never further back than 6th, and have never had trouble in first corner.

Could it be you’re braking too early, because you’re using the marker from a flying lap? Remember you are getting there with less speed, so you can brake later than usual.

What DR do you currently have? (Could be that in low-DR races you get more divebombs...)

Not a problem of timetable, just most of the trolleys think they are too good and too fast to race gr. 4 or N300 cars... so they all go to gr. 3 races...

Usually those races on Peugeot RCZ or Audi TT are harder than gr. 3 races.
Too bad there are only 12 of us racing on track, they should restrict to so low figures only on Miyabi or something.

This has me imagining someone with the VR headset, head turned to the side, just staring out the window as they race online LOL!
Yeah I know VR doesn't work in Sport mode but it is funny to think of this... the tourist-like racer doing some sightseeing :D

great point.. I was surprised last night by how many people where using markers for their braking despite going into the turn from a rolling start. I had to swing wide just to avoid their slow apex dog pile

As a moderator I think your response was quite Narcissistic. I think my problem and solution is clear, I have stated my problem and my solution is to the latter part of the post. If it isn’t clear I’m looking for a clan/group/club (whatever they are called these days) to join and race in lobbies. Sorry to be blunt.

Sorry I'm not talking every race, just some. Actually last night was the total opposite, i qualified 5th and the 4 guys in front of me all crased out first corner

Rating is DR:B and SR:B

There's your issue... SRB.

Never happens in SRS if you're top 4 on the grid.

disagree, I am in SR.S and the other day I qualified #2 on dragon's tail in gr.3 and got punted right away by people that were driving like instead of 10 laps the race was going to last only two corners, in addition also got PIT-ted twice in the chicanes by people trying to pass there which is ridiculous as #1 it's narrow and #2 I was basically taking them flat out so it's not like there was any chance anyways... the last two laps I gained 5 positions in the chicanes because of carnage in front, which was ridiculous, it felt like a SR.B race.

Sometimes SR.S is amazing, done races where the whole race it was like being in iRacing, likely everybody with a wheel and super close driving and no touching, but sometimes it seems you get people that likely got to SR.S by driving clean in the back in A/B but as soon as they get to S they try to race wheel to wheel and all bets are off...

It is annoying because GR.3 is basically once an hour, which means I have time for one race a night tops, so if you get the YOLO crowd in your race it definitely ruins your day... I am also not sure GR.4 would be any better, but I might give it a try the next few days unless of course it's interlagos as that race seems to always end up in carnage

Simply not true. Stop painting a rosy red picture of SRS bracket... SRS is only a little bit better. Especially if you're not top 4 in the grid. We can't all be top 4 all the time.

Can only talk about my own experiences.

37 races, never qualified lower than 4th. Never been punted in any race, never mind in to turn 1.

Been SRS since my 5th on line race, and just progressed up the DR rankings - now DRA, a third the way to DRS.

It can't be just luck that I avoid all this carnage completely, whilst others always seem to be a victim.

Hi Stotty. My experience is after 72 online races, being at B/S for most of them it is slightly different to yours. My region is Asia and especially Japan. I find the Japanese with their Banzai/Kamikaze approach to be, how shall we say politely, a little incompatible with good driving practices ;-) Although I must say they are getting a lot better but there are still some very nasty players out there that are fully aware that you (me) gets the penalty when they dive bomb into a corner. Also most of them seem to be on hand controllers which IMHO makes things worse.

So no, it is not all luck in avoiding contact because a lot of the time it is just plain deliberate by other players ;-)

Are you calling me dirty? Or a lier even? ;)

Hey mate 👍

Can't comment on the Aisa rooms, but seeing the number of complaints about Euro rooms, I can't believe they are any worse.

IME, if you're fast enough, and you put enough effort in to qualifying, and then you're aware enough to see the other driver coming, you can avoid the problems.

I know you are fast enough if you put the effort in - you managed to gold some TT's in AC that were truly difficult for even very skilled drivers. It surprises me you're still DRB after that many races! I would expect you to be well on the way to DRS with you're speed.

What I will say is I avoid a lot of the combos specifically to reduce risk of contact... so I don't race the one makes races at all, I don't race on ovals, I don't race at Tokyo, and I think carefully before racing at Dragons Tail.

I tend to stick to grp3 & 4 at Suzuka, Nurb GP, interlagos and Maggione. And I put a good hour in to qualifying before setting foot in a room. If I'm not on my game that day, and I don't think I'll be competitive with those I compare myself against, I don't bother racing - I just go and re-run some of the track tests to lower my times, or hot lap the 'Ring in the GT3RS.

When I race, I am always conscious of the skill of the person I'm racing, and how they are driving. If they do try a lunge, I don't defend. Better to let them take the place, or more likely slide off the track and give the place back to me, than let them hit me.

I do my utmost to maintain my SR and keep my DR moving in the right direction as I know when I do get to DRS, I won't even have to think about contact beyond racing incidents.

I'm playing the long game.
