Anyone getting Advance Wars: Days of Ruin?

Just wondering if anyone is getting the new advance wars. It comes out jan 23rd. I love these games, I've owned every one of them. My fiancee and I play dual strike at least once a week.

If you've never played advance wars and like turn based war games then I suggest you pick it up. .

I've been very excited about this game ever since I heard it had wifi battles.
If you get it I'll definitely battle with you.

I'll keep a list of members and friend codes if anyone gets it.

Why do they still call it Advance Wars when it's on DS?
 
I always wonder that myself. Its not like people that would buy it wouldn't know what it was if it was called DS wars instead.
 
I was actually quite surprised how different it feels. While Dual Strike felt like a supercharged version of Advance Wars 2, DoR feels like it is in a totally different, more realistic series.
I'm not sure if that is a good thing, though. I do like the new units, though.

Well they were aiming for a more realistic setting, I guess they nailed it.

Me and Ashley each got a copy. She kicked my ass in the first battle. :lol:

You were dead on when you said it felt different. It took me a few battles to really get used to it but now I'm hooked. I like the trial battles, man some of them are tough.
 
I really really like the new units (the flare unit is awesome), but I am still having a lot of trouble adjusting to the new "OMIGOD GRITTY" style it has. Yeah, its crazy realistic and all that, but I don't think it fits with the rest of the series that well. I can't place why, but something just feels wrong. Like in Battlefield: Vietnam, I felt a similar uneasiness.
The styling change overall feels somewhere between "Digimon Season 3" and "Sonic Game Where the Main Character Shoots People and Swears" in the effect it has on me.
 
The game styling feels "natural?" to me when I'm playing in campaign mode, but when I'm battling my fiancee I get that "somethings not quite right" feeling. Its like I can't get in a rhythm or something. Have you battled anyone yet?
 
I love this game, and in the uk it's called dark conflict, haven't put much time in yet but will do soon
