Anyone given up on the UCD yet?

Has anyone given up on the UCD yet? I'm at the point that I've collected hundreds of cars (including all the Premiums). I've been running Seasonals like mad to rack up credits and collect UC's that catch my attention.

Lately (at least for me) I find that there is rarely a car anymore in the UCD that I want. I guess I'm also just completely fed up with Kaz's idea of a Japanese dominated UCD.

Tonight I just called it quits on the UCD. Did a quick test run after purchasing a UC (that took me MANY races just to find one that I felt was worth it). On that quick test run.., I get the usual 6 car refresh. What a waste.., 4 of the 6 cars were RX-7's. 5 of the 6 were Japanese models.

I know some are going to say that yeah GT5's from a Japanese maker.., but come on.., there is a point that it just starts to grate on you. GT5 has a GLOBAL community.., is it too much to ask that Kaz not make every refresh be loaded with Japanese models.., or have a better balance between the various car makers?
 
I'm still looking for one or two cars then I'm done. If you give up on UCD, OCD. Give up on buying cars? Time for racing.
 
yeah ive collected about 125 cars out of the UCD in the last week, i really had to go over the master car list about 6 times to really cherry pick anything I could possibly want...

all thats left that i want is the chaparrel 2j, just need to rack up the 14+mill and hope i see it someday

and yes, the UCD is EXTREMELY frustrating. sitting there for hours refreshing it, 40 skylines, 40 rx7, 40 miatas, 40 silvias, its really BS how the UCD works, i wish they made it like GT4's so you could figure out exactly when the car you wanted would pop up, i mean jesus ive been refreshing it for about 2 weeks and the Gathers Drider civic STILL hasnt poppped up, had to trade for it

bunch of bollocks.
 
It would be so much easier if Kaz just organized the UCD like he did he NCD. Is that too much to ask? :grumpy:
 
not since I got both chaparrals from it yesterday!
 
Well, if you could buy all cars right ahead, then there would be no marketspage. I wish PD implementet online car auctions, where users could sell rare cars for credits....
 
You guys should really utilize the database posted in the thread below. I've found a great deal of cars thanks to this database and I've also been able to trade for cars I wanted due to someone looking for something that just so happened to be in my UCD. Give it a chance guys, I promise you it works. The days may be a few days off but the database is spot on, in terms of the cars, their colors, mileage and cost.

Hi, I bought a second FGT from the UCD the other day. Stupid Bob trashed my first one and even with repeated engine re-builds (1.5Mil.) I could only get it up to 923Hp. The second one directly from the UCD with a re-build gets 936HP the same as the first one I bought.

Going off of what you stated about both cars' HP, I think the first one wasn't broken-in yet.
 
I like to spend time on all of my cars, perfecting each one. I avoid buying cars if i don't need them. So that i dont go through cars quickly

I think he did this on purpose, because he wanted it to be difficult to obtain all the cars. I saw that somewhere on here.
 
forza had online auctions i got a koenigsegg ccgt and a porsche rs spider #7 total for both 100 grand. Great feature more like real life.
 
How is that relating to the thread in any way?

The second part didn't just sharing my experience.
 
For me, it's just too much of a headache anymore. I'm just very bored with going into the UCD to find it packed full of the same models over and over again. Unless Kaz comes up with a better system that balances it out, and not focus so much on Japanese models.., I'm just sticking with what I already got.
 
Oh yeah. I've been looking for a motul pitwork z 04 . Ive cycles over 1100 days. I've bought 50 plus midnight purple skylines during the quest. Seen 5 speed 8 bentleys,6 escudo suzukis,10th or so pescalaros , all of the percieved tough cars multiple times. I refuse to dupe the damned thing. I have over 1900 cars,bought and traded,none duped. I want 2more of these. May never get them
 
I would dupe more, if you just could send more than one car a day. Besides, manny traders save their game on usb before trading = they can recover save game from usb, not loosing one single car. Get real man...or this borrow glitch, which is the same. You share 50 rare cars from different people, and pofff they are yours. Pretty cute huh?
 
No I have not given up on the UCD. I check it after each race and if there is a car that I do not have I will buy it, regardless of what it is.
My only problem with the UCD is that it only allows you to buy one car at a time and it sends you to the main menu each time that you buy a car, making buying multiple cars time consuming.
 
I have only 8 standards left and yup....really pissed off with the UCD, I think it's possibly one of the worst things about GT5. And I've stopped playing the game to spend some time as Adam Jenson.

I've wanted this ever since the game came out.

Of course, thanks to duping, I managed to get most of the cars I wanted before it was patdhed. But now, I'm trying to obtain every single car in the game and I know that the UCD will be a huge pain once again when I'm near completion. :ouch:
 
UCD works just fine for me, no complaints. It can take a while if you're looking for 1 specific car sure, but there's plenty to do while you wait, and lots of different cars to buy along the way. Made me pretty excited when I did finally see something I had been holding out for, too.

I don't think I've ever seen more than 5 or 6 versions of one car model at the same time, either. Not that that's that unrealistic, have you ever been to a real used car lot? 150 cars that are split between 3 different boring types, with maybe 3-4 models of each type, and if you're lucky 3 or 4 cars that you are actually interested in. And you never have any guarantee that there will be ANYTHING worth buying. At least in GT5 you can't buy a lemon.

I might like it better if it was split into 3 parts like it was in GT4, but then people would just complain about that.

I actually try to avoid buying cars from the OCD just because the zero miles and half price makes them feel kind of "cheap" to me.
 
Hmm well not yet. Looking for all the group b rally cars now. Haven't really found any :/.

Exactly this.

If you're only interested in finding that last car, and it's frustrating you so much that you just have to complain about it and you don't have the patience... There is medication for that.
