Im going to make a wheel stand for my DFGT so it doesnt move as much when i have to make a fast reaction turn and i was woundering if anyone has made one that is collapsaple so i can like put it in a closet when im not using it while still being stable while its put together.

Anyone made one yet that they can show me?

looking for something else but thats kinda funny that an ironboard works. Plus its too high for how i have my ps3 set up. the wheel would be like all the way up at my head and i wouldnt beable to see the tv.

It's adjustable. You can have it as low or as high as you need. Works perfectly.

Well i have found an adjustable, collapseable stand but its not home made. It fits all your needs and is compatible with your wheel.

Good product and as an ORDL member you would qualify for a 10% discount. PM me if you want any more info.

i don't have a much money to go out and buy a wheelstand so i was just hoping to buy some like pvc pipes or something and make one. My room doesnt really have a desk or adjustable ironboard i can use. I have plenty of stuff at my house to make a stand but i need a design to go by.

I use a coach as my seat actually so i sit really low and was looking for something i can just compact to put underneath of it or in my closet. So the stand doesnt even need a seat, just something to hold the peddals and wheel in place so it doesnt move left and right.

This is what i need but its too much out of my price range. I need either a home made design i can make out of like pvc pipes and plywood or something around $30

Dean J...that link you gave to the forum list has led me to this wheel stand: http://steeringwheelstand.co.uk/
^ its too expensive still but it looks easy enough to make at home. So i might have to give it a try

Yes, they aren't really "cheap" ;)! Well, try looking at this guys rig. I don't know what wheel you've got, (DFGT, G27?), but this might give you some ideas:

There are some great PVC rigs about and my first rig was also a PVC design. Solvent welded is easy to put together and can be adjusted to suit your personal requirements before being welded. If designed right it could be easy to store if made in sections.

Sorry the gamepod link is no good to you and hope you get something sorted bud.

Heres the link to my first rig, hope it may inspire a design to use in front of your couch.

About 1 year ago I build this thing.

I've gived away this rig to somebody else. I hurt my back and this rig wasn't nice to race. Try to find a small car-seat and it's a very good foldable rig/table ;)

I have a bucketseat from an old car for my set up that im making. I actually have thought of a design now and am going to try and make it here soon. Using PVC Piping and Plywood.

painted though of course so it doesnt look bad. :)

I've found this video and took this model construction for building my own wheelstand. It's about 30 € and a couple of days of work.

Just took a ground plate 50x50 cm and the arm lengths are about 70 cm. Everything's made with MDF plates and a thickness of 1,9 cm. For a better stability, I took rubber plates between the wood at the hinges (acutally rubber plates made for shoe soles). It works. However, the DFGT is a bit heavy why a pinhole in one of the side plates is a good first solution.

Maybe this is another alternative for you :)
