I'm asking because I want to know what they're like to own. I've been offered a good one, 1.9 and it's a good price, history, mot ect. So I'd like to know what the ride is like on long journeys, anything tend to go wrong, things like that.

Next year I'm hoping to upgrade to a Sagaris, thats not too big a change is it?

Used to own one. Loved driving it, hated having to fix loads of little things. Mine was a dturbo 3 door with 108,000 miles on by the time I got rid though. It never really went massively wrong but a few items that broke while I owned it were...

Water pump
Radiator
Heater matrix - these 3 may have been linked?
Top front suspension mounting things that went poing when you did a 3 point turn
Electric window mechanism
Alternator

It was so nice to drive that I have considered changing back to one of those instead of the Leon (and to cut costs a bit).

If you do get it you'll soon learn the joys of lift off oversteer.

I've had a drive in it and it drives very well, mines a turbo as well but it's only done 56,000 miles. It'll be the first car I've had with central locking if I go for it hahahaha. What was it like to run cost wise?

Cheap as anything. What I would give for the mpg I used to get in that. Check out the insurance too. It's only in group 5!! Parts aren't especially cheap but there are loads of specialists around. When I bought mine it had about 60 thousand miles on it. The central locking on mine only ever worked from about 10 feet away. Is it a 3 or 5 door and what colour is it?

5 door and it's that dark green, bodies in good condition and it's mine just over a grand. Fsh, tax, mot'd till next June,

We've got a 306 at work, and it's wierd. The clutch is like an on and off switch, so it's either on the verge of stalling or a full on grand prix start from every junction.

And the dash squeaks like there's a family of mice arguing in there.

For that money give it a shot, but watch the suspension on the quickish ones like the D-turbo and XSi as the bushes wear fast. Apparently.

Good luck,

Kurtis.

This one I'vedriven and the clutch feels okay and I didn't notice any squeeking either. I've heared about the bushes before though, cheers for you're input everyone.

I've decided that I'm going to get it subject to insurance quotes, so I'm ringing around over the next few days and if I find any quotes that are decent the cars mine.
