Anyone painted a '05 Mini Cooper? Roof? Update, 05' P, Any Color, White Roof

So I want to try to recreate my own car, a 2005 Mini Cooper S in game but the Dark Silver Metallic car has a white roof and my personal car has a black roof. My thought was to buy a Pure Silver car that has the black roof and get a Dark Silver Metallic paint chip to paint the car Dark Silver. Has anyone tried painting the 05' Mini Cooper? Does the roof color change with the respray? Does it stay the same? Any help to avoid wasting money would be appreciated. :D

And just to whore out the pic... Here's my car on it's old wheels.

I know when you paint the vw samba bus the roof gets painted as well even tho its a two-tone originally. I assume the mini's the same :(
 
I haven't had any luck, I've been trying to get a red mini with a white roof, but they only have the black roof version with that colour!
 
Hey... a fellow M/U member!

I was wondering the same thing... I'd like to find a color similar to my Oxygen Blue and repaint an R56 to look as similar to my car as possible.
 
Well dang. Oh well. Thanks for letting me know though. Guess I'll just have to live with a white roof or go all Dark Silver. Thanks again!

Update!

This is with the 05' Premium Mini Cooper S:

So I decided since I couldn't get the car the color of my own I'd paint my Dark Silver/White some color Mini's don't come in. So I went with a Frost White I got from a Honda. Low and behold the roof stayed Pure White. So I thought hmmm... Maybe if I paint the Silver/Black car the black will stay. NOPE! Any color you choose to paint the 05' Cooper S the roof changes to white. Whether the car started with a black roof or white roof. Mini stock color or other color. I tried Mini's Dark Silver, a Toyota Gold, a Honda Dark Silver and a Honda White. F'n Lame. Thank god you can quit the game without saving to avoid losing credits. There really should be a way to choose roof color.:grumpy:

Oh and the front grill surround on the 05' Cooper is wrong. That's the year they switched to the smooth surround.:crazy:

Interesting... I'll have to try it with my used MINIs ('02 Cooper S, Cooper, and One) and see what happens. I'm guessing it won't work on those either, but I'll give it a shot. So, if I quit the game before leaving the GT Auto area, it won't save, right?

Ha... Yeah, I can't seem to save money. Every time I start building up some good savings, I find stuff in the used car lot... Like the ~$700k+ Nomad Diablo that showed up last night.

Anyway, I'll try painting the used MINIs tonight and we'll see what happens. I'm guessing they all just become all one color, but we'll see.
 
Hey OP, you on NAM? your car looks familiar. I have an 06 BRG Cooper S. To my knowledge, the R53's have white roofs with no way of changing that, while the r56's have body color roofs that change when you paint it a different color.

BTW, a fully modded R53 in the game sounds intense! (but it sounds nothing like the real thing, no supercharger whine at all) But it still sounds awesome.

Yup, and the interior speedo is way off. It looks like they used the font for the R56 speedo. The steering wheel is also the ugly one off a pre facelift R53.

Is the white on the MINI Roofs/mirrors the same as Alpine White? I thought I heard that at one point.

FWIW, the MINI ONE's are solid colors... mine is solid Silk Green.

The R56 interior has the 2-spoke wheel, too.

BTW, for both of you, What color are the used MINIs you see in the used car lot, if you've seen any. I'm trying to find all of the factory colors, but only one color shows up in each person's UCL, so I have to trade for them.

'02 MCS = Pure Silver
R50 = Silk Green
MINI ONE = Silk Green
 
Not on NAM much at all anymore. Haven't been in quite sometime. Mostly hang out on M|U. :)

I'll keep an eye out for the used Mini's. Haven't seen any yet actually. I want to get a silk green paint chip at some point...

When I won mine, it came in an interesting color combination of bordeaux and beige.
The little square in the same color as your car, shown at the timeboard next to the cars name (amongst other places), was bordeaux - which made me think that this whould be the color you could change. To match the sandy (beige), I choose a white paint item, but of course the whole car became white.

Now I'm just trying to find this color (or a similar one): Bleu de France or the national racing color of france (used on some old Bugattis) :sly:

I've been watching all along and just saw my first '02 MCS a day or 2 ago. I've seen a few R50s abd ONE's though.

I kind of figured that would be the case. I wonder how many different factory paint schemes there are in the game? That would be an interesting (and expensive) collection to put together.

I still haven't seen an MK1 GTI, so let me know if you see an extra one, I guess. Oh, and let me know if you need any cars for specific races. You're welcome to borrow whatever I have, like the Gallardo, truck, etc.
