Has anyone played a game over LAN...two PS2's, seperate memory cards, etc

and been able to use cars from their garages to race each other? i hear in the other thread that a 2p split screen game doesnt allow garage cars, but what about a LAN game between two PS2's? TIA!

i did some searching and i read bits of people complaining about no garage cars in lan play, but i havent found a confirmation yet... anybody care to confirm?

That would seriously blow. but If thats true I remain hopefull that they are including smaller features like that for the US Release. :indiff:

Chances are slim to none. What do you think those people in the Japan market would think if PD pulled a trick like that?

"Eh, we got the game 2 months earlier than them, suckers."

we get gt4 will online, with the working 2p/online garage, and they get an online expansion, along with 20 more tracks, and 200 more cars.

I've played a lot of the LAN mode and playing garage cars is easy. You just add them to your favourites folder and voila. Problem is the favourites folder only holds 30 cars and once you are in LAN mode you have to reboot to get out.

Favorites folder?

And how does one add a car to that?

I've never played 2-player splitscreen battle and never will, sorry. I presume it's the same.

To add a car to your favourites, just hit up or down on the D-pad in single player arcade mode in the car selection screen. It will mark the car with a tick. To uncheck the car, just do it again.

but how can you add any car to your favourites from your garage????

Lapdog, for the love of god I hope you're true.

So you are sayin that if I add a tuned car to favorites I can then race it in 2 player split-screen and LAN? Also can you tell me if you've found a way to save 2 player replays and also make them full screen?

Oh mate, I need a quick answer, I may have to take the rest of the day of and call my mate to have GT4 day if that's true.

Some people have said, that a car is automatically added to the arcade-mode, when you've got it in the carreer-mode. But it's only the basic car - without its tuning-components. Are all these arcade-cars automatically playable in a LAN-game?

And what about these 30 favourite cars? Are thay playable in a LAN-game with all their tuning-components, and with their (self-made) settings?!

(I don't have the game yet - I'm still waiting for the PAL-version.)

We wanna know if you can add a car from the Gran Turismo mode to the favorites and then it shows up on the favorites list in arcade mode with all the modifications that have been done to it.

Anyone? I've checked and I can't see a way to add a car from my garage to the favorites list. All I know how to do is put arcade cars on that list.

Ok, I feel alittle left out. Maybe I'm the only one that doesn't know this. Well, here goes. . . I've the term LAN but, how does it work and do you go to hooking it up?

Thanks,
Jeramy

i'd like to know this aswell!

I might be taking the wrong approach with this, but when Sony said that garage battle wouldn't be available in GT4, don't you think they would have said that there was an exception to LAN battles if there was?

For the favorites, I think you guys are talking about, when choosing a car in 2 player battles, right before you select the car, there's an up/down option to let you put the car in the fav list, but i haven't try to put anything in yet. so don't know what will happen.

You're right Ronnn, doing an "up" select then prompts you to add the car to you 'favorites". A big yellow tick will appear above the car to indicate it is in your "favorites" garage selection.

It's as easy to de-select cars as well.

I think you guys are just teasing us poor souls that dont have the game. Can someone just say straight out whether or not you can put your tuned cars from your memory card or garage into the favorites folder, and so use them in a 2player battle?

If im just slow and didnt catch it, i apologize, but i didnt see it clearly stated anywhere.
